Some sellers have been banned! Amazon is strictly reviewing this behavior

text
As the year draws to a close, Amazon is increasingly scrutinizing sellers’ listing renovations.

It is understood that many sellers have received warning emails from Amazon. Some sellers have reminded: "Don't refurbish if you can avoid it. After all, it is a violation of regulations. Don't be lucky. My store has been closed."

01

Amazon cracks down on listing refurbishment

Amazon clearly stated in the warning email to sellers:

The platform has discovered that some sellers or their agents have attempted to replace a specific ASIN with a new ASIN that does not match the current product. This behavior is defined as "refurbished listing."

Amazon warned that if this problem happens again, the seller’s account will be directly deactivated.

As more and more sellers receive warning letters, many sellers who have done or are trying to "renovate" are beginning to feel frightened.

One seller said:

"I renovated it myself, and there have been no problems so far. Now I am afraid of receiving the email."

Another seller, though afraid, was still undecided. He said:

"The original listing had a lot of negative reviews. Since the average order value was high, I chose to refurbish it. Shortly after the refurbishment, there were several more direct negative reviews. Since I couldn't find who left them, I couldn't deal with them. I am currently considering continuing the refurbishment."

The purpose of "refurbishment" is to use a series of operations to "refurbish" a link that is not in the new product period into a brand new link, so that the product can regain the support of the platform's new product period and be exposed again. Many sellers refurbish mainly for the following reasons:

(1) Eliminate the negative reviews on the previous ASIN;
(2) Selling infringing or restricted products and continuing to sell them after refurbishment;
(3) Old links are not selling well, and refurbished links can bring more traffic to new products;
(4) The link becomes a stalemate and cannot be displayed on the front end.

So at this moment when strict enforcement is in place, is it still possible to innovate?

02

Seller: Don't move yet

There are two main ways to refurbish products at present. One is to open a case for refurbishment, and the other is to change the ASIN attributes. As for whether refurbishment is still possible at present, sellers have different opinions.

Generally speaking, the normal renovation process:

(1) First save the asin sku fnsku (A) that you want to refurbish (if asinA has been synchronized with other sites, delete the link)
(2) Delete ASIN (A)
(3) Create a new Asin (B) and obtain a new Asin sku (B)
(4) Follow the sale of AsinB, and fill in A's sku in the process.
(5) After success, you will get (B) asin + (A) sku, and then complete the picture title description (at this time, the FBA inventory is not available for sale)
(6) Open a case and ask for mapping. For example, please help us map inventory to Asin (B)
Remap sku: (A) to asin: (B)

Some sellers think that the essence of refurbishment lies in mapping, and Amazon's rules allow mapping, so it is no problem to refurbish normal links (mainly those with poor ratings), and it is very simple. However, it is really not recommended to do dog refurbishment. Amazon determines that your link is in violation of the rules, and it is easy to cause problems if you force the refurbishment. Don't lose the big picture for the small.

However, most sellers believe that sellers should not operate lightly due to strict supervision at present. If they have received a warning email, they should also handle it in time.

First violation handling

When a seller violates the rules for the first time on the Amazon platform, the platform will usually issue a warning notice. In order to eliminate the violation warning, the seller needs to take positive action and prepare a detailed action plan based on the violation. This plan should clearly state the methods to correct the violation and the strategy to prevent similar violations from happening again in the future.

Multiple violations

If the seller fails to effectively correct the behavior after the initial violation and continues to violate the rules, Amazon may issue a more serious warning notice to the seller. In order to successfully appeal the violation decision, the seller needs to prepare the following materials:

Brand qualification certificate: Provide the product's brand certificate or brand authorization letter to prove that the seller has the right to sell the product.

Proof of purchase: Submit documents such as supplier invoices and purchase contracts to prove that the product source is legal and meets Amazon's sales requirements.

Violation Description: A detailed description of the violation from a compliance perspective, including the ASIN involved in the violation, when the violation occurred, the root cause of the problem, and the measures taken. At the same time, strategies for preventing future violations are provided.

When making an appeal, sellers should avoid directly mentioning the problems caused by the "mapping" operation or the creation of new ASINs for the purpose of mapping. At the same time, sellers should maintain active communication with Amazon and respond to the platform's inquiries and requests in a timely manner. This will help speed up the appeal process and increase the success rate of the appeal.

Regarding refurbishment, some sellers reminded that “refurbishment is against the rules in the first place. Every refurbishment will be recorded by Amazon. Try to operate it properly and don’t play white hat or black hat tricks. Small sellers can’t afford to play these tricks. The risk is too great. Otherwise, Amazon will settle accounts with you later.”
