Amazon Entrepreneurship Record: From Almost Giving Up to $100,000 in Monthly Sales

Amazon Entrepreneurship Record: From Almost Giving Up to $100,000 in Monthly Sales

Friends who often follow us should know that we recently prepared a 5-day Amazon hands-on incubation camp for entry-level sellers, teaching everyone practical operations and theories step by step from the beginning.

As this incubation camp was coming to an end, the students welcomed two special "visitors" - two old students who graduated from our first incubation camp, Yuan Jie and Ye Shuang (pseudonyms).

After hearing about the start of our incubation camp, they came to Suzhou to visit Alice and encourage their juniors.

Taking this opportunity, we invited two old students to tell our fans how they came into contact with Amazon, what confusion and frustrations they experienced, and how they are doing now.

Let’s take a look at their Amazon stories.

Yuan Jie (pseudonym)

Today I came back specifically to see my teachers and new juniors. Actually, there are four of us (old students from the first incubation camp) here today. The other two brought their families so they didn’t come to (Alice Company). Only I and the beautiful lady next to me (Ye Shuang) came up to take a look.

A few of us (members of the first phase) have always maintained good contact. We have a small group that often gets together to exchange resources such as reviews, and we also share any operational experiences in the group . I think this kind of mutual assistance relationship is inseparable from the growth we had together during that period.

I started working on Amazon at the beginning of last year. At that time, I had some spare money and wanted to start my own business. I read various information and news, and finally chose Amazon.

At that time, I had no knowledge of this industry and had never been exposed to e-commerce before, so even though I registered the store under the guidance of the investment manager at the beginning, I was still confused when I came to the backend and had no idea what to do.

I don't know how to run ads or set up promotional coupons. I just post new products every day and refresh the orders if there are no new products. I know it's useless to do this, and I have spent a lot of time learning in the forum, but the benefits are very small.

The account was half-dead for about half a year, and I placed orders based on my luck. If I was lucky, I would get one order a day, but if I was unlucky, I would have zero orders for several days in a row, and I only made 3,000 US dollars a month. I had lost most of the starting capital I had accumulated, and I almost gave up.

When I first met you (Alice), I was of the mindset of giving it a try, and a factory owner I just met recommended you to me, so I decided to join the incubation camp.

I won’t go into details about the process. It was a real devil training camp at that time. Several of us (students) had to do homework until three in the morning every day, and then continue classes at 9 o'clock the next day.

However, in this training camp, I also systematically learned the operational work that Amazon needs to do for the first time, and I also learned how to screen data, summarize problems and make improvements.

After I went back, I worked with my notes and digested the ideas at the same time. In addition, a few of us (students) would discuss and share our views with each other in the small group after we returned. Even now, we still have new understandings of these contents.

Although I haven’t gotten rich overnight, I’ve been making steady progress. My main account has made nearly 40,000 US dollars a month, and my two small accounts, which are just starting out, have made around 20,000. I also took advantage of Prime Day this year, and made a total of more than 90,000 from my three accounts.

Not only did I earn back the money I invested, I also became more and more wealthy, and I felt more confident when I was at home. Recently, I fell in love with the same Mercedes-Benz E-Class as Alice and her friends, and I will buy a new car after the peak season is over.

Ye Shuang (pseudonym)

I started out as an independent website, and I had more experience with logistics and other things, and my basics were much better than his (referring to Yuan Jie). Independent websites are very tricky, and although the platform rules are relatively free, the fatal flaw is that you need to open up the traffic end yourself.

▲Ye Shuang is being interviewed by us

The major e-commerce giants in the United States are spending money like crazy to grab traffic and customers. No matter how much money we small sellers spend, it is in vain. I realized this truth after investing more than 100,000 yuan, which is indeed a bit late.

Fortunately, I saw through it and decided to transform myself to a large platform to become a third-party seller. Choosing Amazon was inevitable, after all, it is the e-commerce platform with the largest market share in the United States.

Although I have worked in e-commerce, the rules and gameplay of independent websites did not bring me any advantages on Amazon. I also had only a vague understanding of the Amazon platform. In the first few months, the store was almost idle, with products but no sales.

I was very clear that I needed systematic training, but I attended a lot of online and offline courses, and felt that the content was rather empty. They liked to give long lectures with various examples, which sounded impressive at first glance, but when I looked back on it, I still didn’t know what to do. During that time, my impression of training was extremely bad.

I got to know Alice after seeing your (official account) article. Because of my previous experience and my hometown is relatively close to Suzhou, I came directly to your company to talk to Alice.

Her understanding of the platform is indeed quite in-depth, and as someone who has worked on an independent website, it is easy for me to understand. Although she didn't tell me any specific operations, after chatting for an afternoon, I even had a vague understanding of the entire Amazon rules, so I decided to participate in her incubation camp.

Maybe it was because I had some basic knowledge and was more sensitive to product recommendation algorithms, so I digested the content of the incubation camp quickly. When I went back, I used the optimization and advertising techniques I learned on my own products, and the orders for that month showed an upward trend.

Subsequently, each month's sales volume was higher than the previous month, and has now stabilized at around 60,000 yuan. The two operators who had previously followed me to run the independent website have also opened new stores. While I am operating the main account myself, I will also pass on to them what I have learned from the incubation camp.

At the same time, due to the turnaround and Amazon store association issues, we didn’t have to consider this before with the independent website, but now we can’t. We moved to a new office and office equipment, and the desks and computers are all new.

Since I came to your incubation camp, I have not attended any other courses. I have read the notes of the incubation camp again and again, and I plan to thoroughly understand them before considering other courses.

Amazon is a very difficult road. People keep taking this road, and people keep falling behind and giving up. The difference is that there are many reasons for giving up, but there is only one reason for success, that is persistence.

▲Two old students having dinner with our members

The same is true for the protagonists of our two stories today. They never gave up on the path to Amazon when they were at their lowest point. Their persistence always enabled them to rebound and live the life they once wanted.

Everyone’s efforts should not be wasted. We hope that all Amazon sellers can embark on their own path. Finally, I have prepared a package of Amazon refined operation skills for everyone. Please scan the code and get it from me~
