Certification Introduction:

T electrical appliance certification is mainly performed by SIRIM QAS, and the certification methods are batch certification and PC certificate certification. Batch certification is only valid for each batch of products. After the goods arrive at the port, the testing agency will inspect and sample the goods, and label them for customs clearance after they are qualified. The PC certificate is valid for 5 years. After obtaining the certificate, the corresponding products can be imported an unlimited number of times within the validity period. However, the certificate needs to be inspected annually to maintain its validity.  

Certification process:

COA registration matters:

1. The rated voltage used in Malaysia is 230V/400V, the rated frequency is 50Hz±1%, and the common power plugs and sockets are Type G British plugs and Malay plugs;

2. The application needs to provide a product CB report before COA registration can be carried out. If not, testing is required;

3. Products within the scope of MEPS need to provide energy efficiency test reports. At present, there are seven main types of products that need energy efficiency testing: air conditioners, refrigerators, household fans (MS 2574: 2014), lamps (MS 2598: 2014), televisions (MS 2576: 2016), washing machines and microwave ovens.
