Black Friday is over! Amazon sets another record!

The much-anticipated Black Friday has come to a successful conclusion. How did Amazon’s various sites perform this year?

According to foreign media data

This year's Black Friday once again set a historical sales record

It is estimated that the online sales of the entire Black Friday will be around 7.4 billion US dollars

Compared with last year's 6.2 billion, it increased by 19.3%

Equivalent to brother-in-law

Sold more than 7 million Second Brother

Foreign media clearly stated

Although Black Friday is an offline shopping spree

However, online sales on Black Friday this year were very strong.

This year's Black Friday e-commerce sales share

Breaking the record again, reaching about 18%

That’s equivalent to one in five Americans shopping on Black Friday.

One option is to choose an e-commerce platform like Amazon

So how are the sales of each site this year?

The performance of the European site this year is indeed disappointing. It can only be said that the loss of sellers caused by VAT is quite serious, resulting in a lack of growth momentum for both Prime Day and Black Friday in the European site this year, and even a sense of regression.

Even though the Black Friday event was launched earlier than the US site, the progress bar on the flash sale page was not ideal as of noon on the 29th.

Although the overall sales in Europe are declining, it does not mean that sellers will become less and less popular. On the contrary, due to the low competition, many sellers can still maintain a relatively considerable order volume.

Although the Japanese site participated in Black Friday for the first time this year, it did not conduct the event simultaneously with other sites. Instead, it held Black Friday discount activities from the 22nd to the 24th, which was last Friday.

Because the event happened suddenly, the Japanese site did not notify sellers in advance to register for the Black Friday flash sale. As a result, all LDs on that day would be displayed as "Black Friday Deal".

Judging from the results, even small sellers who did not have any activities on that day had a significant increase in traffic. According to data provided by some students, it was basically 2 to 3 times the usual amount, and the increase in the number of orders was also obvious.

If Amazon prepares in advance next year and starts Black Friday on the Japanese site simultaneously with the rest of the world, I believe sales will go up further.

The US site has such terrible sales performance

Almost equivalent to

Every second of Black Friday

There are more than 50,000 US dollars in goods transactions

The US site had already shown very strong momentum before the Black Friday event began, and even the LDs on the evening of the 28th were running very fast.

At 4 pm yesterday, when Black Friday officially started, LD sold out the stock of many toy products in just over ten minutes. Even when ordinary members couldn't buy them (Prime members can buy LD products in advance), the stock was gone.

The US site is still performing strongly, but the Prime exclusive discounts are not as good as we expected. This year's Black Friday is still dominated by the top sellers who take up most of the traffic and orders, and it is difficult for small sellers to take advantage of the situation.

Next, let’s take a look at the sales of each category this year

Congratulations to the following three categories

Ranked in the top three of this Black Friday sales!

The sales volume of Amazon categories is highly correlated to the number of sellers and the size of the category, so everyone can guess which categories are expected to make the top three.

However, the toy category has really made a strong effort this year. At the beginning of Black Friday, the several toy products I was eyeing were sold out very quickly. Detailed data from each company has not been released yet, but I estimate that there is a high probability that the toy category will account for a large share of the hot-selling products on Black Friday this year.

(This little dinosaur has been all over my screen since the beginning of Black Friday)

The best-selling items on Black Friday and Cyber Monday are more of a reference for us to select products. Don’t copy them or you will fail quickly. You can learn about the aesthetics and needs of Americans from these best-selling items and develop your own best-selling items.

Black Friday has now come to an end. Don’t be discouraged if your sales are not ideal, because Black Friday is an offline shopping carnival after all.

We cross-border sellers have our own Cyber Monday to prepare for. I have summarized a few tips for Cyber Monday to help you check for omissions before Cyber Monday. Please scan the QR code below to get it from me.
