Will trade frictions resume?! The latest official statement from the United States

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, Sino-US relations have been very tense. We and the United States have not only engaged in a verbal battle to refute the US rumors that we are the origin of the epidemic, but both sides have also not stopped their actions, from no-fly bans to entity sales ban lists.

At this time, many sellers began to worry that if the situation continued to be so tense, the two sides would tear each other apart and restart trade frictions and a tariff war like in May last year.

Remember how Trump's tweet caused so many foreign trade people to bear huge tariffs? The two sides' moves were temporarily stopped until the beginning of this year, and a first-phase trade agreement was reached, which included improving the technology transfer system, increasing imports of American products and gradually opening up financial markets.

After the agreement was reached, the tariff war was stopped, and the punitive tariffs of both sides were canceled or reduced. In short, it is a great thing for us cross-border sellers.

Back to the beginning, now that the situation between the two sides is so serious, is it possible to tear up the agreement and restart trade frictions? The White House trade representative raised this possibility in an interview recently.

The trade deal is "over"?!

In a recent interview, White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said that because of the COVID-19 issue, the US government has lost trust in China and trade negotiations are "over."

The agreement that was reached with great difficulty is about to end?! The news hit the US stock market hard, and the Dow Jones Index fell by about 400 points.

This matter even alarmed Trump, who specifically clarified on Twitter, saying that the first phase of the trade agreement reached with China is "intact" and hopes that China will continue to implement the provisions of the agreement.

Peter Navarro later clarified that his true meaning was not misinterpreted by Fox News. "I just said that we lack trust in China because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This has nothing to do with the Phase One agreement that has been reached, and the agreement will continue to be maintained."

According to foreign media reports, although we have not yet begun to implement many of the contents of the first phase agreement, this trade agreement is one of the few substantive political achievements that the Trump administration can brag about . As long as Trump wants to win the US presidential election in November, it is impossible for him to have any thoughts on this agreement before the election.

So unless Trump starts to act foolishly again and makes some unexpected big news, we don’t have to worry about the two sides restarting trade frictions for the time being . Now the United States is having difficulties in restarting society, and if it starts a trade war again, the US economy will not be able to recover this year.

What we sellers need to pay attention to is why registration for Primeday has not started yet?

Primeday Today

Europe and Japan have successively announced the registration deadline for Primeday. These two sites must have been preparing for Primeday, which may be in September or later, but the US site has not yet opened Primeday registration.

A relevant spokesperson said that the supply chains of the main sellers of Primeday this year have been severely hit. Some sellers of 3C technology products may not be able to prepare enough inventory to participate in Primeday, and Amazon also has to deal with a further surge in order demand this year. It is difficult to achieve full load transportation while taking epidemic prevention measures.

Under these two factors, Amazon's Prime Day this year may need to take longer to prepare than usual, and there is currently no guarantee that Prime Day will be launched at the same time as sites in the United States, Europe, Japan and other countries.

However, no matter when Prime Day is postponed, it will definitely coincide with the peak season in the second half of the year. We all need to rush to rank and maintain good reviews before the peak season, so that we can take advantage of the surge in traffic . Therefore, during this period, everyone can work on listings while paying attention to safety.
