Walmart launches an upgraded refurbishment program! Products that are 90% new or above are featured!

Walmart launched the "Walmart Restored Premium" program on Monday (July 31) to provide premium refurbished products. The retail giant launched the "Walmart Restored" program in August last year to provide users with ordinary refurbished products.

“Restored Premium builds on the success of Walmart Restored by helping customers discover an even wider variety of high-quality, refurbished items at ‘everyday low prices,’” said Michael Mosser, Walmart vice president and category leader for marketplace, in a press release.

According to Walmart, items that fall into the "Restored Premium" tier are like new, with no signs of cosmetic damage, and come with a one-year warranty and 30-day (or longer) free returns. The items will be refurbished by the manufacturer or a third party authorized by the manufacturer. In addition, the batteries in the items (if any) will be 90% new or better.

The retail giant said the new Refurbished program provides sellers with an opportunity to expand their merchandise assortment, allowing them to bring high-quality refurbished items to customers and even expand into other product lines.

Michael Mosser further said: "It is more sustainable to keep products in circulation as long as possible, which is in line with our purpose of working with customers, suppliers and sellers to achieve a more circular economy. When we take action to reduce unnecessary waste and increase recycling, we protect the environment for future generations."

With easier access to Walmart’s loyal customer base, sellers can help build trust, enabling a cycle of sales and growth, ultimately expanding their refurbished products into other categories — from computers to lawn mowers.

It is learned that all refurbished products are displayed in the "Walmart Restored" section of the Walmart website. In addition, users can also purchase refurbished products from brands such as Apple, HP, Samsung and KitchenAid through search. It is worth noting that in addition to the website, Walmart will start selling them in some Walmart stores from the fall.
