Amazon is pushing new services! Are free orders going to be blocked?

Amazon is testing a new feature recently, requiring customers to show the delivery code before they can take the package from the delivery person!

This is different from using a pickup code to pick up goods from a courier cabinet. It is for normal delivery. When the deliveryman gives the product to the customer, the customer needs to show the delivery code to take the product, otherwise the deliveryman will not hand over the product. At the same time, the delivery code of the day is only valid on that day. If it is not convenient for the customer to receive the goods on that day, the deliveryman will come again the next day , and Amazon will also generate a new delivery code and send it to the customer who placed the order.

On the surface, this is a good way to prevent package loss, ensuring that the customer is the real ordering customer and that there will be no delivery errors. In addition, Amazon's terminal delivery is still quite problematic, with delivery personnel often throwing packages around or leaving them at the door without authorization. The process of exchanging pickup codes can ensure the quality of the delivery service, and when the package is delivered to the customer, the customer can also confirm that the product has not been damaged or lost during transportation.

From a more in-depth perspective, Amazon is not actually providing express locker services. On the contrary, Amazon's self-operated Hub Locker express lockers are used by quite a lot of people. They have even been praised for generating income for the parks where the express lockers are located (by buying food along the way when picking up packages).

Consumers who find it inconvenient to receive goods are more inclined to use express lockers to receive goods, which is more convenient in terms of time. Therefore, this new delivery code policy actually wastes the time of both delivery staff and customers. Why does Amazon still want to test such a function?

The new function points directly to free orders

You should know that when exchanging the pickup code, it is equivalent to the deliveryman handing the item to the customer, and the customer also confirms that he has received the product. What can this avoid? That's right, it is to avoid the customer saying that he did not receive the product and initiate a non-return and refund! This is one of the most important parts of the free product routine!

Previously, I have introduced in detail the recent free order incidents on Amazon, which refers to customers who clearly received the goods but contacted Amazon customer service to say that they did not have them, and through a series of rhetoric and operations, Amazon's FBA customer service directly refunded the money, which was equivalent to free ordering. There is not only a professional team behind this series of operations, but there is even a video tutorial specifically teaching everyone how to get free orders, which has been viewed tens of thousands of times on Twitter.

In this routine, the most important step is to tell the customer service that you did not receive the product even though you clearly received it. This is also the reason why they ask for a refund without return. The rest of the operations are just supplementary and false evidence. The process of receiving the delivery code means that the delivery person has indeed delivered the product to the customer . The customer will definitely not be able to ask for a refund on the grounds that they did not receive the product. If this is implemented in place, it will completely block the way for these freeloaders.

Therefore, the small-scale test of this function must first target the accounts of buyers who have a history of suspected free products in the background , so that they have no chance to act. For most normal sellers' orders, this delivery method is still quite troublesome, and it is estimated that it will only be an optional method for consumers to decide whether to use it.
