Christmas is coming, and sellers are actively preparing for the final sprint at the end of the year! However, a sudden notice from Amazon yesterday was a chilling blow! 01 FBA completely stops receiving goods On December 9, Amazon issued an official announcement: Amazon Logistics will stop receiving Christmas goods on December 3. Please wait until January of the following year to send us replenishment inventory, because during the Christmas shopping season, we have to go all out to process and deliver buyers' orders and have no time to take care of other things. Thank you for providing buyers with high-quality products at a great price. It is our honor to help you deliver goods, make buyers happy to buy, and make you feel comfortable selling. The warehouse was closed for receipt of goods on December 3, but the sellers were not notified until December 9. This move made countless sellers indignant! A seller said: The two batches of goods I sent out in November are still out there and have not been put into storage. I saw this again this morning! Some sellers also said: We calculated the time for sea shipment a month in advance, and it was supposed to be delivered to the warehouse this week, but this happened! Some sellers even said: Let’s all raise prices collectively! Regarding this matter, the editor also opened a case to consult the customer service. The customer service said that they had just received this notice and expressed their helplessness! Customer service 1 replied: Customer service means: 1. This policy is very sudden, but it is confirmed to be true! 2. Goods signed for before December 3 can be signed for and put on the shelves normally! 3. Goods signed for after December 3rd can be put into storage, but they will not be put on the shelves until January! 4. It is recommended that sellers do not ship to FBA during this period, because even if they receive the goods, they will not be put on the shelves! 5. All information is subject to the notification received in the seller’s email! In previous years, it was understandable that FBA was slow to enter the warehouse during the peak season, but this year, they simply did not put the goods on the shelves, which made many people unacceptable! Especially for some Christmas goods, if they cannot be put on the shelves, don’t they have to wait until next year to sell them? Customer service 2 replied: In addition to the reply from the customer service representative mentioned above, some sellers also consulted other customer service representatives, but the customer service representatives said that they had already informed everyone!
The customer service representative said that this notice had already been sent on October 21, and now it is being sent again as a reminder! We found a logistics notice from Amazon on October 21st, which required sellers to send goods for the "holiday gift-giving season" to FBA before December 3rd! This notice did not say that goods would not be accepted after December 3rd.
Moreover, the customer service also stated that although the goods sent to FBA during this period can be put into storage normally, Amazon does not guarantee that a certain percentage of the goods will not be lost. Doing business with Amazon is really full of pitfalls! Some sellers consulted the investment manager of the US site, and the manager said: Preliminary updates: Not all goods will be rejected. We will still accept restocked goods! We will not accept goods during the holiday gift-giving season, which are cut off on December 3. Overall, it will not have much impact on everyone! If you still have a lot of goods, please do not restock them for the time being and send them out in January! This may be relatively good news, I hope it is true! 02 Why did Amazon stop warehousing? According to insiders, the reason why Amazon issued the notice to stop entering the warehouse this year is because Amazon had a large number of orders that needed to be delivered on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The warehouse staff were all pulled to deliver the orders, so there were insufficient staff to receive the goods! Some sellers also said: There are similar statements every year. It seems that they are not accepting shipments, but in fact they should still be able to receive shipments. Some friends reported that two FBA shipments were received yesterday. According to the editor’s guess, each warehouse has different staffing arrangements. For warehouses with sufficient staff, Amazon will arrange for sellers to put products on the shelves! It’s just that it’s clearly the official fault, but the sellers have to pay for it, which is really disgusting! 03 Amazon Storage and Replenishment may save your life Just before the "FBA Stop Warehousing" notice was issued, Amazon had just updated a policy called "Amazon Storage and Replenishment" in Canada! One of the provisions of this policy is: sellers are allowed to store inventory near Amazon's distribution points to quickly replenish inventory. Sellers no longer need to worry about inventory shortages due to a surge in orders, which will cause a drop in rankings. Maybe by next year, when this policy is widely implemented, there will be a big improvement in the storage shortage problem during the peak season! At present, if sellers are facing the risk of out-of-stock, they can start from the following aspects: Sell your own listing When FBA is out of stock, sellers can adopt the method of self-delivery and follow-sell their own listings to ensure that the ranking does not drop too much. Price increase When facing out-of-stock, raising prices is the most direct way! Raising product prices and reducing the number of orders can reduce the impact. However, raising prices will lead to a decrease in listing conversion rate, which will affect the store weight and further affect the seller rank. Transfer to overseas warehouse If FBA does not accept the goods, sellers can forward the goods on the way to overseas warehouses to minimize the impact of out-of-stock during the peak season! Of course, I hope Amazon can arrange the warehouse staff as much as possible to ensure that the sellers' goods can be safely put on the shelves! Otherwise, this will not only affect the sellers' sales, but also Amazon's stock price. I hope it can understand! |
