▶ Video account attention cross-border navigation As we all know, there are many black and gray services in the cross-border e-commerce circle. Over time, some services have even developed into industrial chains, and there are many specialized organizations engaged in similar activities. Illegal order-padding, black technology, selling personal information and other behaviors are emerging one after another, refreshing the cognition of cross-border people again and again. Some sellers do whatever it takes for money, but ignore the serious consequences of the above behaviors. Related cases have been reported before, but these phenomena have not disappeared. However, cross-border e-commerce is not a lawless place. All business activities of sellers will be supervised by relevant departments. If sellers fail to comply with the legal provisions, they will eventually be sanctioned. Recently, Amazon officially reported several cases of cross-border e-commerce violations being investigated to warn sellers to operate legally and in compliance with regulations. Cross-border gray and black industry organizations are under investigation On January 4, 2022, Amazon officially announced that it assisted and cooperated with the public security organs of Shanghai, Henan, and Shanxi to complete a number of case investigations targeting gray and black industry organizations and illegal sellers in export cross-border e-commerce. It is reported that the illegal acts involved in the case include the illegal buying and selling of citizens' personal identity information and company business licenses in an attempt to register sellers' stores on Amazon's overseas sites and make profits from them, create malicious reviews, and fake orders and hype reputation . These actions have seriously damaged the healthy business environment built by the majority of sellers. In order to create a fair and honest cross-border e-commerce environment for sellers, Amazon has cooperated with relevant law enforcement agencies in various places to bring violators to justice.
In 2019, the Shanghai Public Security Bureau filed a case against companies and individuals involved in providing illegal "fake orders and fake reputation" services to certain Amazon sellers, and took criminal compulsory measures against more than 10 suspects. Currently, the judicial authorities are steadily advancing the handling of the case. In 2021, Amazon assisted and cooperated with the public security organs of Ye County, Pingdingshan City, Henan Province, to complete an investigation into a case involving the illegal sale of citizens' personal identity information and company business licenses in an attempt to register seller accounts on the Amazon site and make profits from it. The case involved more than 60 suspects in total, and the investigation lasted for several months starting at the end of April. At present, the persons involved in the case have been arrested by local public security organs in accordance with the law. Among them, 48 people have been transferred for prosecution and the cases have been tried in court one after another. In 2021, Amazon assisted the public security organs of Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province in completing the investigation of a case in which a Chinese seller on Amazon maliciously attacked other Chinese sellers . It is understood that a seller hired a service provider to deliberately give negative reviews to the victim's store, maliciously purchased a large number of products from the victim's store and then returned them in batches, which led to the victim's store being blocked . This seller and the service provider he hired were taken criminal compulsory measures by the local public security organs in October 2021, and have been formally transferred for prosecution. I believe that sellers have heard of the illegal activities involved in the above cases, such as fake orders, using other people's identity information to register on Amazon, using service providers to post bad reviews, and malicious attacks from competitors. These methods have become routine operations for many sellers in the industry. Although this behavior has been condemned by many sellers, driven by profit, similar behavior is still prevalent in the circle, turning the originally healthy business environment into a mess, and the majority of fellow sellers are deeply harmed. Amazon: Will continue to crack down on illegal activities Justice may be late, but it will not be absent. With the assistance of Amazon, the authorities have taken law enforcement actions against the persons involved in the above-mentioned acts, and they will pay the price for their actions. Although Amazon has repeatedly reiterated its platform rules and business regulations, there are always some sellers who will take risks for the sake of sales performance and eventually go the way of breaking the law. Amazon also expressed its attitude towards the above-mentioned violations: Amazon cooperates with law enforcement agencies around the world to hold violators accountable through economic penalties, civil lawsuits, and criminal lawsuits, and effectively cracks down on illegal activities. Amazon said that it will work with relevant law enforcement agencies in various places to create a fair and healthy business environment and promote the long-term and sustainable development of the export cross-border e-commerce industry. In addition, Amazon once again issued a reminder to warn sellers to pay attention to compliance operations: In 2020, Amazon invested more than US$700 million globally and had more than 10,000 employees worldwide to support the mall's compliance operations. It blocked more than 6 million abnormal seller account registrations and more than 200 million fake reviews, of which more than 99% of the fake reviews were discovered through active monitoring. Amazon also continues to improve its ability to identify non-compliant operational practices through advanced machine learning technology and professional manual review . In China, Amazon continues to provide compliance and other training to sellers engaged in export cross-border e-commerce business through its global store business, and helps sellers understand relevant laws and policies through multiple channels to ensure compliance operations. We would like to remind all sellers that legality and compliance are the basis of all business operations. Do not easily test the edge of illegality and violations. Compliant operations are the general trend!
