Etsy partners with Google to help sellers expand their audience

It is learned that Etsy recently announced that American shoppers can now purchase products from Etsy sellers directly on Google without visiting the Etsy website.

Etsy said that sellers' listing details, including pictures, prices, shipping information and policies, will be displayed on Google. When shoppers buy products on Google, the transactions will automatically appear in Etsy's order center, and sellers do not need to pay off-site advertising fees for these transactions.

For shoppers, on the other hand, when they buy a product on Google, they will receive a confirmation and shipping email from Etsy, as well as a confirmation email from Google.

Etsy told sellers that it will promote product listings on Google through off-site advertising to help sellers reach shoppers as they browse search results. Sellers' product listings appear in two places:

  • Paid Ad Placement: Etsy will feature sellers’ listings on Google paid ads for free. Etsy will cover the upfront costs of Google paid ads, and sellers only pay for Offsite Ads fees at the time of transaction.

  • Free product listings: Shoppers can also browse and discover your product listings through Google Shopping and other pages on Google. Sellers pay nothing when listings appear in these placements, and there are no Offsite Ads fees when transactions occur.

In addition, shoppers can use the new feature "Partner Checkout" provided by Google to check out directly when purchasing Etsy products. This move will make it easier for shoppers to complete their purchases and help sellers reach new audiences on Google.
