Amazon has issued a number of new rules! New rules for listings! These types of sellers should pay attention

Amazon sellers have been looking forward to the golden peak season, which has officially kicked off. The second half of the year is coming one after another, and the shopping spree is coming. Seize the opportunity of the peak season to make a lot of money.

As the peak season approaches, Amazon has released several new announcements in succession. Sellers should be careful. If you are not careful, your existing listings may be deleted!

Amazon releases new rules for listing such products

On October 6, Amazon US site issued an announcement regarding pesticides and pesticide equipment listed. The original announcement is as follows:

Amazon is continually working to protect customers and improve the shopping experience. As part of this effort, Amazon is updating requirements for offering pesticides and pesticide devices, which will affect certain products that sellers offer or previously offered. Sellers should be aware that products that claim to have insecticide properties may be considered pesticides and pesticide devices under EPA regulations, as described below.

Beginning October 6, 2020, new pesticide and pesticide device listings will require a "Pesticide Marking attribute" to be filled out when creating a listing, and proof of an EPA registration number and EPA agency number, or proof that the product is not subject to EPA regulations. Sellers proactively providing the required EPA information to product detail pages will minimize disruption to sellers' product offerings.

For existing listings of pesticides and pesticide equipment, sellers need to provide this information in the “Pesticide Marking attribute” before January 11, 2021, otherwise the seller’s existing listing may be removed.

Additionally, if sellers have not previously received approval from Amazon to sell pesticides and pesticide control equipment, they must obtain approval by November 2, 2020, or their offers for these products may be rescinded.

Amazon updates new brand registration process

Recently, Amazon released a new brand registry registration process .

The announcement stated:

If you are participating in Amazon’s Brand Registry program for the first time or registering a new brand, we have an updated registration process that involves two new requirements.

If you are a brand owner, you will need to provide at least one image showing your brand name, logo, or other identifying mark on the product and/or packaging. You will also need to provide at least one ASIN for each product category in which the brand is sold. This will help the Brand Registry better identify the brand being registered. For brands that do not sell on Amazon, there is the option to self-report product categories without providing ASINs.

Some sellers asked if this means that sellers only need to provide the above documents and can file without registering the trademark? However, this idea is just the seller's guess. Whether the procedure is simplified or not still needs to be clarified by the seller.

Is this really the case? Industry professionals said that the so-called update process for registered brands is just that Amazon does not allow you to list brands that you have not registered or that you have not used before. However, you only need to provide packaging with the brand logo and pictures of the logo printed on the product, open a case to register the brand whitelist, and you can upload listings with this brand.

Amazon releases new listing rules <br />These types of sellers should pay attention

As the peak season approaches, stocking up for goods has become one of the most important concerns for Amazon sellers. On the 28th, Amazon issued a new rule that affects the stocking up for goods of four categories of sellers, including sellers of clothing, watches, shoes and boots, and jewelry.

In addition to announcing that sellers can use pre-filled files to register for automatic pricing, Amazon also recently released an announcement in the background titled "New product information experience to prevent defects". The content of the announcement is as follows↓

“We will be introducing a defect prevention process on October 28, 2020, whereby products will only be published if the package weight and dimension values are accurate. If product information is inaccurate, it often leads to defects in the supply chain and a bad buyer experience.

Product package weight and product package dimensions (length, width, and height) are catalog attributes used to inform customers of the dimensions and weight of a package. It is worth noting that this new experience is only available for products in the Apparel, Watches, Shoes, and Jewelry categories.

The published products must not exceed the prescribed limits, as shown below↓↓↓

①Attribute: Product package weight
Maximum: 27.16 lbs or 12.32 dg

②Attribute: Product package length
Maximum: 39.37 inches or 100 centimeters

③Attribute: Product package width
Maximum: 19.69 inches or 50 centimeters

④Attribute: Product package height
Maximum: 19.69 inches or 50 centimeters

It can be seen from this announcement that sellers of clothing, watches, shoes and jewelry need to fill in product information accurately as required, otherwise they will not be able to publish the products.
