Sellers in this category are in trouble! Just now, Amazon officially announced the suspension of...
In the early hours of this morning, many sellers received email bombardment from FBA. The news brought by this is not optimistic, and even has a far-reaching impact on some sellers!

FBA stops accepting these products

According to the seller, someone received an email from FBA at 3 a.m. The content of the email is as follows:

We would like to inform you that effective April 15, 2021, Amazon fulfillment centers will not fulfill or accept meltable inventory. Effective October 16, 2021, meltable inventory will be accepted again.

"Meltable" refers to all heat-sensitive products, including but not limited to chocolate, gummies, and select jelly and wax-based products. For more information, visit Meltable FBA Inventory.

If you are unable to move the product by April 15, please submit a removal order. To protect the integrity of the product during storage and transportation, products in fulfillment centers must be able to withstand summer temperatures of 75 to 155 degrees Fahrenheit.

Removal orders for meltable items must be submitted by April 15. If a removal order is not submitted by that date, your meltable items will be processed for a fee. For more information, visit Removing Inventory from Fulfillment Centers.

Effective April 15, 2021, chocolate, gummies, and meltable inventory such as jelly and wax based items will not be accepted into FBA.

These products are very popular on Amazon. For example, the candle category has seen a surge in searches due to widespread power outages in the United States.

Sellers who are going to stock such products in the near future should be very careful! In addition, sellers who are selling the recently popular chocolate molds should also pay attention to the keyword content to avoid being misjudged!

In addition to announcing the suspension of accepting soluble products, FBA also made new notices on the issue of buyer returns and refunds!

FBA Return Refund Delays

FBA said in its latest notice:

Due to the severe winter storms that have hit much of the United States, we are experiencing delays in receiving and processing customer returns. For some returned merchandise, there will be delays in getting inventory back into your account or reimbursing you for the cost of these items. You do not need to take any action on the return.

If you have questions about the status of a customer return, please review the reports accessible through the FBA Inventory Compensation Policy. We hope you are staying safe and appreciate your patience as we process these returns.

Sellers should be prepared for the return of inventory and delayed payment of compensation in the near future! In addition to FBA warehouses, major logistics companies are also affected by the extreme cold wave!

According to US media reports, as of now, the winter storm has caused 76 deaths in multiple states in the United States, about half of which are in Texas. Water and power outages caused by the extreme cold weather are still continuing in many places.

On the roads, many areas were hit by heavy snow, and several logistics companies issued notices to suspend pickup or delay delivery. On February 18, local time, the United States Postal Service (USPS), FedEx, and UPS all issued service warnings on their official websites due to heavy snow.

As for Kapai, many companies have stopped accepting goods to Texas, Tennessee (TN), Pennsylvania (PA), Oklahoma (OK), Washington (WA), Oregon (OR), Arizona (AZ), Northern California, etc. If the seller has orders in transit, please pay attention to the logistics dynamics!

At the port, due to the surge in imports, the largest ports in the United States, Los Angeles and Long Beach, are continuing to be under pressure from a large number of containers entering the port. At the same time, the ports are severely congested, with a large number of ships waiting to berth .

The large number of container ships piled up near Long Beach and Los Angeles is having a chain reaction on the entire container industry, creating uncertainty about when the market will return to normal. At the same time, shipping companies are planning to reduce trans-Pacific services, change demurrage times, etc.

Recently, there will probably be significant delays in the first and last leg of the journey, as well as in warehousing and shelf placement. Sellers should try to choose multiple delivery channels and combine FBA with overseas warehouses to prepare goods, so as to reduce the risk of out-of-stock situations!
