During this period, most retail stores except food supermarkets must be closed, primary and secondary schools and kindergartens will also be closed, and the number of people in each family gathering during Christmas will be strictly limited. Merkel said that every effort must be made and action must be taken quickly to avoid overloading the medical system.

The German federal government and states urgently called on all citizens to avoid all domestic and cross-border travel for non-emergency reasons from now until January 10 next year.

The change in measures from "partial lockdown" to "hard lockdown" reflects the worsening of the epidemic. It is understood that after Frankfurt, Erfurt and other places announced the cancellation of Christmas markets, Germany's most famous and largest Nuremberg Christmas market was also cancelled.

According to the orderly electricity consumption schedule, the first production suspension period is from December 15 to December 19; the second production suspension period is from December 22 to December 25; and the third production suspension period is from December 28 to December 31.

The power restrictions and production suspensions were not only seen in Zhejiang. Provinces such as Jiangxi and Hunan also issued notices requiring orderly electricity use.

Due to the epidemic this year and the Christmas peak season, many foreign trade factories have scheduled their orders for next year, but the sudden power restriction notice has made many foreign trade people panic.
