In 1999, Robert Beaver and his two sons founded Zazz1e. Robert Beaver had started four businesses with his two children before founding Zazzle.

The customized services provided are in three forms:

In the first form, in addition to being able to choose from the existing products provided by the website, Zazzle users can also personalize and design most of the products according to their own needs, such as changing the size and placement of the pattern, adding their favorite text and colors to the product after choosing from hundreds of fonts and tens of thousands of colors, and adding their own image to the product if necessary.

The second form is that Zazzle has reached strategic partnerships with some internationally renowned brands, allowing Zazzle to make authorized images available for website users to choose from and use on the selected products. These include 4,500 designs of all cartoon characters under Disney, Lucas' movie "Star Wars", character images, the Pink Panther brand, and so on.
