What is ASIN? ASIN Review

The ASIN (Amazon standard identification number) code is a unique number that Amazon generates for each product for easy classification and retrieval. It is automatically generated by the Amazon system and does not require sellers to add it themselves. Each product distributed by Amazon has a unique 10-digit ASIN code. If it is a book, the ASIN code is equivalent to the ISBN number used worldwide. The ASIN code of other products is a number generated when the product is uploaded, which is the product's "ID card".

About ASIN

The ASIN code is equivalent to a unique product ID, also called a product number, which consists of numbers and letters. It is unique on the Amazon platform. The ASIN code corresponding to the same product and the same UPC on different sites is usually the same, that is, one ASIN code corresponds to one SKU. The ASIN code can be used to query products on the platform front end and the seller's store back end.

ASIN code changes

1. Will the ASIN code of the product change? Generally speaking, if a seller who opens a store on Amazon posts a product, the ASIN code is generated by the platform, so even if the listing is modified, the ASIN code will not change. However, when the listing created by the seller is the same product as the listing of other sellers, and the description is very similar, then in this case, the listing may be merged and the ASIN code will change accordingly. If the ASIN changes, as a seller, you must know that the ASIN code is like the product's ID card, which is the only credential for finding the same product, so when the seller uploads the product, a unique ASIN code will be generated for each product.

2. Generally speaking, the changes in ASIN codes will be based on the following aspects: size, weight, color, model, quantity, category, title, and appearance size. However, some "bad guys" will also use these to manipulate some buyers to make them think that they have bought the products they want. Just like if there is an error in the ID card, you will not be able to find the person, or find the wrong person, etc. This will affect the customer's shopping experience and make the customer have a bad impression of you. The conditions mentioned above will directly affect the product and are very important.
