While sellers are struggling with the "decline in order volume", Amazon's "iron fist" is equally ruthless. It continues to increase its efforts to regulate the platform's business environment and has launched multiple rounds of sweeps.


Recently, many sellers have reported that multiple categories have been swept by Amazon, and a large number of listings on sale were suddenly misidentified as children's products.

As we all know , Amazon has always had strict management over children's products. Many sellers have reported that since June 18, listings in multiple categories have been identified as children's products by Amazon, and sellers are required to provide relevant certification information.


According to sellers, Amazon's US site is stepping up its review of the compliance of children's products, but has accidentally hurt many sellers in non-children's areas. It is currently known that categories such as toys, accessories and jewelry, and home furnishings are involved.


It is reported that some sellers had 300+ SKUs swept at one time. Another seller complained: "There are more than 20 applications, but only 3 were approved. They are obviously not children's jewelry. Several pop up every day. It's so irritating. "

Generally speaking, after receiving a notification of misjudgment, you should immediately send an email to the Amazon team to prove that the products you sell are not children's products. However, the seller's appeal was not only rejected, but the number of misjudged products is still increasing: " The appeal was directly rejected once, and the newly created listings also require information. "


Amazon responded in an email: From your email, we understand that ASINXXX is adult jewelry, but it was mistakenly classified as children's jewelry. You need to provide information to explain that these products are not children's jewelry.


The seller then provided all the ASINs that were misidentified and received another email from Amazon. Amazon said that after careful investigation, in order to ensure that the relevant ASINs are not marked as children's products, the seller needs to delete all keywords that mention "kid or children". As of June 21, some ASINs have gradually returned to normal.


It is reported that some sellers deleted words that may be associated with children's products (including but not limited to girls, boys, girlfriend, boyfriend, kids, children, child school, etc.), and then the ASIN was restored.


However, at present, there are still a large number of sellers who are mistakenly judged that their listings have not been restored, and their appeals are rejected after they submit their materials.

How to appeal against Amazon’s misjudgment?

Here are some sellers’ practices regarding products being misclassified as children’s products:


Check the product listing



The most likely situation to trigger Amazon's system misjudgment is the appearance of sensitive words in the listing, product Q&A, and reviews.

The first thing sellers should do is to recheck the content of your listing . Check whether there are keywords such as kids, child, school, boys, girls, etc. or related pictures on the detail page. It is recommended to open a case to find out which words are sensitive in the link, and if there are any, just remove them.

If no suspicious keywords are found in the listing, but in the product QA and review, some customers asked "Is the product suitable for children?" and many words related to children's characteristics appeared in your reply, this situation should be made clear in the email and attached with relevant screenshots.

1. Prove what your product is (purchase invoice, instructions, six-sided picture of product packaging, link comparison of peer competitors, product-related certificates, etc.)

2. Prove that you are not a certain product. Why can’t your product be used as a children’s toy? Provide relevant evidence and use the video as a comparison .


Complaint method:



1. Check the " Manage Your Compliance " page, click the question mark behind "Children's xx products" to see which categories are marked, and delete such keywords + keywords describing children according to the lsiting information .


2. Focus on describing on the details page that this product is not suitable for children aged 12 or under . (It is best to include descriptions in the comments section to prove that the product being sold is not a children's product)


3. Send a complaint email in English, which must include the following: screenshots of the misjudged keywords, the main sales targets of the product, a comparison chart between the product and children's products, the product ASIN code, and information about the product supplier (mainly provide the supplier's purchase invoice and information to convince the Amazon platform that you are not selling children's products).



After submission, just wait for the Amazon team to review it. It should be noted that it is best for sellers to prepare all the materials at one time to prevent the information from being scattered in the hands of different customer service staff.


Supplement: If what you sell is indeed a children's product, you can just test your product and submit the CPC Children's Product Certificate, invoice and other materials to file a complaint. If it is misjudged, you need to upload relevant materials to prove that it is not a children's product.
