ThredUp and Madewell launch new platform to expand brand partnership

It is learned that ThredUp , an American second-hand clothing e-commerce platform, recently announced a partnership with the well-known denim brand Madewell to launch a new online platform "Madewell Forever", which mainly sells second-hand denim clothing.

The new platform was officially launched on Tuesday, with 3,000 products currently on sale, with new styles added every hour. Customers can sell old denim clothing of any brand on the platform and send the goods to ThredUp at the same time.

ThredUp will sort the goods it receives and determine which products can be sold on the platform, and unsellable denim garments will be recycled through certified programs such as Cotton's Green Jeans Program.

Madewell said it aims to sell 1 million pairs of used jeans through the platform by 2023, double the number it has collected through its Jeans for Use program over the past six years.

ThredUp has been expanding its brand partnerships over the past two years, and has already partnered with brands such as Vera Bradley, Abercrombie & Fitch, Reebok and Rent the Runway. Madewell is one of the latest clothing brands to partner with ThredUp, which also shows that the second-hand clothing e-commerce market in the United States is very hot.

In addition, "Madewell Forever" is the first resale platform launched by ThredUp in cooperation with a brand, where consumers can both sell and purchase goods on the platform.
