Benzene, a carcinogen, was detected! Health Canada recalls these antiperspirant sprays!

Health Canada has announced the recall of several Old Spice and Secret antiperspirant/deodorant spray products due to the detection of benzene, a carcinogen, which can occur through inhalation, oral administration or skin contact and can cause cancers such as leukemia and bone marrow blood cancer, as well as blood diseases, which are life-threatening.

Although the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said the levels of benzene detected in the recalled products in testing would not cause adverse health effects, there are still health concerns. As of November 24, the company has not received any reports of accidents or injuries related to the use of this product in Canada.
