Preface / It’s the end of the year, and all the sellers are busy with sales and making some money for the New Year’s red envelopes, but my brother-in-law is itching to get his hands on it again, and has started a large-scale cleanup of frozen funds ! Amazon cleans up frozen funds on a large scale, turning 6 million into 0 Recently, many sellers said that the funds in their frozen accounts have been cleared . There are reports that Amazon issued a notice on December 9 saying that it would clear the funds in these accounts . Even those who were permanently banned and had their funds frozen for selling masks at the beginning of the year have had their funds cleared. It is said that one mask seller had an account balance of 6 million, which has now been cleared to 0 at once . This was also expected. Initially, at least 200 stores were closed for selling masks, and the frozen amount was as high as over 100 million yuan. Although the majority of the stores had their funds frozen for several thousand to tens of thousands of dollars, there were also many large sellers with millions of dollars, and their balances were permanently withheld, and there was basically no way to appeal. This time, it is not just the masks that were sold before. According to the feedback from the complaint service provider, this normal complaint is no longer valid and can only be opened by force . Some service providers also said that as long as there is no complaint, the money in the account will be cleared soon. Some sellers speculated that the money in the accounts that were blocked this year might be permanently frozen (that is, cleared to 0). After three months of closure, 90% of the stores could not get any money, and then the balance would be cleared after a few months. This year, fake orders, associations, and frozen funds were definitely a massacre on Amazon. In fact, these were all misjudgments. Indeed, overnight, the money in the account disappeared, ranging from tens of thousands of dollars to millions, which really made the sellers very sad. Why did Amazon freeze the funds? One seller said that it was the end of the year and his brother-in-law was worried about giving year-end bonuses to employees , so he took advantage of the seller. Another seller said that his brother-in-law cashed out and entered the pharmaceutical industry this year, so he might be short of money recently and wanted to get some money for Christmas. However, these are all speculations. Amazon's large-scale freezing of funds actually has signals. Article 3 of the Amazon Business Solutions Agreement clearly states that if a seller violates the Code of Conduct or any other Amazon policy, it can take action against the seller's account, such as removing the listing, suspending or confiscating payments , and canceling sales privileges. There are two clear signals here: act fairly and sell legally and in compliance with regulations. Most importantly , there is one more line: forfeiture of payments. This is why many types of case freeze emails clearly state that the funds will be returned in 90 days or longer, but the sellers wait for 90 days or even longer, and the store funds still cannot be released. Over time, the store funds are even cleared to zero. What should sellers who have been cleared out do? There are currently only two solutions to this problem : Continue appeal Wait and see Amazon has a bug. Last month, some sellers’ funds were cleared or the funds in their sales accounts became negative again or part of the funds were transferred away. After waiting quietly for a few days, the funds reappeared. We need to wait a few days to observe and evaluate. In addition to the large-scale freezing of funds, infringement issues are also a headache for sellers. Infringement cost seller $170,000 Infringement is something that sellers often encounter. Recently, a seller said that he received an email from Keith in July this year saying that they had a trademark infringement case, and the trademark was Frisbee. However, the initial email did not mention the trademark, and he did not know which product it was. "After asking again, they replied that it was a frisbee we sold in June last year, and the title had 'Frisbee'. It was delayed until the court judgment came down, saying that we were absent. Now the other party is asking us to pay 150,000 US dollars in compensation, and the total amount of frozen accounts is more than 20,000 US dollars." Another seller also said: "I received a warning from Amazon in July that someone had complained about infringement, and I deleted all the listings at that time. I never paid attention to it. I received a lawyer's letter in August. Now I check my account funds and they are frozen." Final Words Amazon is paying more and more attention to compliance-based operations. Sellers can only develop in the long term if they abide by the platform rules. There will be fewer cases of sellers being forced to empty their accounts by their brothers-in-law. (Source: Maiwen) |
