Shopify has launched a series of major platform updates for sellers as part of its biannual global product showcase, Shopify Editions. More than 100 product enhancements have been unveiled as part of its Winter '23 Edition. “We launched our first release less than a year ago, and now our Winter ’23 release showcases the more than one hundred products and features we’ve built in the last six months alone,” said Shopify President Harley Finkelstein. “So with this release, we’ve moved quickly to refine tools to help sellers deliver on the promise of mobile commerce, meet buyers’ expectations for seamless checkout and fast delivery, and better increase sellers’ conversion rates.” The Canadian e-commerce giant is taking steps to streamline the checkout process into a more effective tool for sellers by turning it into a single-page experience and optimizing it based on what Shopify has learned from Shop Pay. All app-based customizations will work with the new design, resulting in a faster, smoother, and higher-converting checkout standard. The new drag-and-drop checkout editor means Shopify Plus sellers will be able to install apps to their checkout, adding more functionality.
