Amazon's baby swings are recalled by the CPSC for violating multiple safety regulations

It is learned that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently announced the recall of Papablic's Archie baby swing due to the hazard of suffocation.

It is understood that the recalled products are PapablicArchie baby swings, model PAPABLIC61A, batch numbers PF2106C01 and PF2301C01, and the information is marked on the label on the back of the swing. The swing is about 25 inches long, 25 inches wide, and 25 inches high. The main body of the swing is gray and black, with three plush toys hanging, including stars, moons, and koala bears, and comes with a remote control.

Between July 2023 and April 2024, about 2,700 units of the product were sold on Papablic's official website and Amazon for about $150. Because the product has a tilt angle greater than 10 degrees, it may cause suffocation to infants, violating federal safety regulations on sleep products and infant safe sleep. Because the remote control contains batteries, it also violates other requirements for infant swings and labeling requirements of the Reese Act.

The CPSC said consumers should immediately stop using the recalled swings and contact the importer, Two Pony, to learn how to dispose of the product and submit a certificate of destruction to receive a full refund. Currently, Two Pony and Amazon are directly contacting all known purchasers.
