LemonStand is located in Vancouver and was later acquired by Mailchimp. On March 5, 2019, LemonStand announced that it would shut down its services until June 5, a total of 90 days, but no explanation was given.

At that time, foreign media contacted Ross Paul, LemonStand's investor and vice president of business growth, but he suggested that foreign media contact Mailchimp (Paul's Linkedin account profile already shows that his employer is Mailchimp). Mailchimp confirmed the transaction and described it as an acqui-hire. Now LemonStand's team is working on light e-commerce functions.

Mailchimp said in a statement to CNBC: "Mailchimp acquired the LemonStand team in late February." But the company did not mention any financial terms of the deal.

Mailchimp, a privately held company based in Atlanta, said the acquisition was intended to provide more functionality to its customers, particularly in the e-commerce industry.

However, when you enter LemonStand’s official website, it is still closed and it states that it will be officially closed from June 5, 2019.
