Costco Q4 financial report released: e-commerce sales increased by 18.9%


It is learned that on September 26, the US retail giant Costco released its fourth-quarter financial report for fiscal year 2024. As of September 1, Costco's fourth-quarter revenue was US$78.2 billion, a year-on-year increase of 1.0%.

Revenue was $78.2 billion, up 1.0% year-over-year

Net income was $1.68 billion, compared to $1.3 billion in the same period last year

Total comparable sales increased 5.4%, with U.S. comparable sales up 5.3%

International comparable sales increased 5.7% and e-commerce comparable sales increased 18.9%

Membership fee revenue was $1.512 billion, compared to $1.509 billion in the same period last year


The financial report shows that although Costco's e-commerce sales increased by 18.9% year-on-year, it was still lower than expected, and the growth rate was lower than the more than 20% in the previous quarter. Same-store sales in the United States increased by 5.3%, and in Canada by 5.5%, which was also lower than the previous quarter.


In addition, Costco also announced its full-year results for fiscal year 2024, with revenue of $249.6 billion, up 5.0% from $237.7 billion in the previous year. Net income was $7.367 billion, compared with $6.292 billion in the same period last year.


Currently, Costco operates a total of 891 warehouse stores, including 614 in the United States and Puerto Rico, 108 in Canada, 40 in Mexico, 35 in Japan, 29 in the United Kingdom, 19 in South Korea, and 15 in Australia. It also operates e-commerce websites in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, and Australia.
