It is learned that according to a survey by market research firm Refinitiv, due to inflation and supply chain issues, the US consumer purchasing confidence index in December this year was lower than in 2020.
Still, Refinitiv said U.S. retail sales will also see strong growth in the fourth quarter, expected to rise 14.3%, with e-commerce sales accounting for 13% of total retail sales.
Additionally, in the fourth quarter in the United States, the apparel, home furnishings, sporting goods and home improvement sectors will see their strongest growth of the year, with Refinitiv predicting growth of 8.1%, 6.7%, 4.2% and 3.9%, respectively.
It is learned that by 2022, US retail sales will continue to grow, and e-commerce sales will account for 14.9% of total retail sales.
