Amazon backend officially announced major changes! What should sellers do?

Amazon released an announcement in the backend these two days, and many of our seller fans laughed when they saw it. Isn’t this the same thing that asked sellers to vote last week!

At that time, foreign media broke the news that Amazon was preparing a protest against the implementation of antitrust policies, and would work with third-party sellers to put pressure on relevant government departments in an attempt to prevent antitrust sanctions against Amazon. They also revealed a page that Amazon used to call on sellers to sign a joint letter, which mentioned that some antitrust policies affect Amazon's ability to connect customers and sellers.

In this backstage announcement, the statement was a little more direct, saying that it would have an impact on the operation and services of the mall, "may cause hundreds of thousands of small and medium-sized enterprises to lose the opportunity to connect with Amazon consumers and Amazon services."

It seems that Amazon is really anxious. It is probably because the last time the joint sellers on the webpage were not very effective. This time, they directly put this matter in the announcement, calling on all Amazon sellers to participate in the joint protest against antitrust sanctions. I can only say that Amazon really thinks too much. The most difficult thing for us sellers is the hegemony of the platform. Unreasonable store closures, no payment or inventory withdrawals, preference for self-operated products, and unclear red line rules are all evidence and drawbacks of Amazon's one-sided rule. Now there is finally an opportunity to punish this phenomenon, but Amazon still wants sellers to help it avoid this punishment. It is really a foolish dream!

And now Amazon has not hesitated to release this news in the background, so we can vaguely see the situation in 2019.

Different paths, same destination? This time Amazon is not far from being regulated

In 2019, the EU government also restricted the right to ban sellers' stores due to monopoly issues. Sellers must be notified 30 days in advance and the reasons for the ban must be detailed. This clause also ushered in the first fine last week, which was imposed on Amazon for banning stores without reason in May. When this policy was implemented, Amazon also notified sellers in the background and through emails, asking sellers to pay attention to the impact of policy changes.

Does this speech look familiar? It is basically the same as the recent announcement on the US site. This fully shows that this policy change has a significant impact. At the same time, the possibility of the policy being implemented is very high, forcing Amazon to remind and even win over sellers in advance to resist the implementation of the policy. This time, Amazon is really not far from being regulated and split!

According to some information revealed by foreign media, although this series of antitrust bills are ostensibly aimed at several technology giants, including Google, Facebook, Amazon, etc., in fact, the biggest of these companies, that is, the main target of punishment is Amazon. Only Amazon can be sanctioned by almost all new antitrust bills. The five new bills, "Innovation and Online Choice Act", "Platform Competition and Opportunity Act", "End Platform Monopolies Act", "Services Exchange Act", and "Merger Filing Fee Modernization Act", correspond to Amazon's monopoly in various fields, on sellers, consumers, and competitors. Amazon is the highlight of this antitrust bill.

This is also why Amazon is so eager to find sellers to stand up and advocate for it against the implementation of the bill. The impact is too huge.

Of course, I also analyzed it with you last time. For us third-party sellers, if Amazon is really sanctioned, there may be some impact in the short term, but it is definitely a big benefit in the long run. Since our previous article was published, many sellers have begun to applaud the regulation, and some sellers even followed the "way to contact the legislators" left by Amazon on the joint protest page to express their support for the implementation of the antitrust policy to the authorities. This is really
