In the past two days, Amazon Japan issued an announcement stating that it will implement new FBA fee changes starting in March next year, including a certain percentage increase in commissions, storage fees, long-term storage fees, and delivery fees, etc.! According to the announcement, this wave of fee adjustments will be divided into two parts: the Japanese site will increase sales commissions starting March 1, and FBA fees including warehousing fees and logistics fees will be increased on April 1. However, this commission adjustment only applies to the categories of clothing and fashion accessories, shoes and bags, and jewelry . The changes are as follows: ① For each item in the clothing category, a sales fee of 12% of the item price will be charged for items below 3,000 yen, and a sales fee of 8% of the item price will be charged for items exceeding 3,000 yen. ② For the total sales of each item in the shoes and bags category , the portion below 7,500 yen is calculated at 12% of the item price, and the portion exceeding 7,500 yen is calculated at 6% of the item price. ③ For the total sales of each item in the jewelry category , a sales fee of 10% of the item price will be charged for the portion below 10,000 yen, and a sales fee of 6% of the item price will be charged for the portion exceeding 10,000 yen. At present, there is no change in the commission ratio of other categories. The above three categories are subject to phased commissions. This will test the seller's product pricing strategy even more. Even the overall plan for launching new products next year needs to be readjusted. Affected sellers are advised to prepare early. Next up are the broader FBA fee adjustments, which will take effect on April 1 and include: ① For small and light items, an additional 15 yen will be charged for each item. ② Changes in FBA delivery fees: In the new charging standard, Category 2 in the standard size is divided into the following three sizes: Standard-2a (under 40cm): 434 yen per piece Standard-2b (less than 50cm): 465 yen per piece Standard-2c (under 60cm): 485 yen per piece FBA shipping costs for other sizes remain unchanged ③ The fees for small/standard-sized items (excluding clothing and fashion accessories, shoes, and bags) in the FBA inventory storage fee will increase. The specific changes in each billing segment are as follows: ④ The FBA long-term inventory surcharge will also change. Not only will the long-term storage fee be increased after one year of storage, but a new fee will also be added for redundant inventory stored between 271 and 365 days. This change will take effect on April 15, 2023 (the long-term inventory valuation date), and the first billing date will be May 15, 2023. The detailed changes are as follows. I calculated that the increase in long-term storage fees is more than 30%! In addition, the new billing period also charges sellers about a quarter of the long-term storage fee three months in advance. The storage cost of redundant inventory will soar next year! |
