Amazon's 'Holiday Dash' event kicks off the shopping season

Last-mile delivery sees big price hike

After Prime Day, Amazon entered the holiday shopping season. Now, Amazon has launched the "Holiday Dash" event, launching special holiday shopping items every day, covering categories such as toys, fashion, electronics and household items. In order to alleviate the increased online shopping pressure and supply chain pressure caused by the epidemic, the shopping season has also been advanced by nearly a month.

At the same time, the price of last-mile delivery is about to increase , and sellers' logistics costs will increase.

As the peak season approaches, air freight prices have already skyrocketed. Amazon said in a notice that the U.S. Postal Service will implement a temporary commercial price increase from October 18, 2020 to December 27, 2020, so the U.S. Postal Service's rates for purchased shipping will increase to match this price increase.

It is reported that many freight forwarders said that UPS recently issued a notice that the back-end delivery discount will be reduced starting from the 18th, and UPS logistics prices have skyrocketed again.

According to reports, UPS and federal delivery fees will increase by 50%, and US dedicated line fees will increase by 20%, with an estimated increase of 3-5 yuan.

During the peak season, freight rates rise, logistics delivery is slow, and warehouse overflow problems will occur accordingly. In addition to making good delivery plans, sellers can also reduce transportation costs by optimizing product packaging, weight and volume, and light and small plans.
