861 accounts prosecuted! Sellers need to be cautious during peak season...

As the end of the year approaches, Black Friday Cyber Monday is coming. This year's Black Friday Cyber Monday will start on November 20 and last until November 30. From now until November 19, many sellers have begun to prepare for the Black Friday Cyber Monday promotion.

The recent experience of sellers is also worrying! Large-scale account closures, listing infringements! Thousands of sellers were out of business on Black Friday and Cyber Monday because of this!

My brother-in-law has started blocking accounts on a large scale again!

Be careful during peak season!

Recently, a large number of sellers have received "heart-breaking" emails from their brother-in-law without any warning:

The email stated: In accordance with Section 3 of the Amazon Business Solutions Agreement, we have deactivated your Amazon account and disabled your product information... We found that your account is associated with an account that cannot be used to sell products on our website (as shown below).

It is understood that the affected sites include the three major sites in North America, Germany, France, and Japan. What is scary is that the account was blocked without any abnormal operation, and what is even scarier is the "weird" reasons for blocking the account.

The reason for the connection is:

Legal person name association : Since the English name in the account registration materials is the same, it is determined to be account association.

The same set of information is associated with different sites : that is, it is associated with the site where the same account is banned from selling, and Amazon misjudged the situation because other sites have closed their stores.

Many sellers said:

Seller A: Amazon: I don’t care, I don’t care, it’s your problem.

Seller B: I am confused... I am also infected when I log in using the local network and VPS?

Seller C: I hope that sellers who have been unblocked can share their experiences. When the loneliness reaches late at night, the night is already cold and desolate.

Seller D: This account association happens all the time. In fact, they suspect you, but they don’t have solid evidence. But they don’t want to let anyone off the hook, so they want you to prove your innocence. They would rather kill someone by mistake than let him go unpunished. Amazon is very cunning.

In any case, it is unfair and unreasonable for sellers to block accounts without reason. Especially for some old accounts, once they are frozen, they will face a large amount of goods piling up, affecting capital turnover!

A message began to circulate in major seller groups, saying that Amazon will block a large number of accounts in the near future, and sellers who need reviews should suspend the reviews first, otherwise they will face the risk of being blocked.

It is common for Amazon to have a large number of accounts blocked due to manipulated reviews during the peak season. Regardless of whether the news is true or not, sellers should act cautiously during this period to avoid losing more than they gain and missing the peak season.

861 accounts were prosecuted!

Infringement sparks heated debate

Recently, SoClean disinfector sued 861 accounts for trademark infringement, causing heated discussion .

Although the brand name is SoClean, many sellers do not know that the brand has also registered trademarks such as Traveller and Cleaning is a snap, which will allow the brand to catch the 861 accounts.

The importance of listing is self-evident. If someone else’s trademark appears in a listing, sellers will face the risk of being sued, so they must pay more attention.

Below, the editor has summarized several types of infringing words for everyone. These words are very easy for sellers to ignore. Let’s take a look~

nologo, nobrand, N/B, N/A, Brandless

Not long ago, nologo, which is commonly used by non-brand sellers when uploading listings, was also registered as a trademark and cannot be used. In addition, sellers have reported that when filling in N/A or N/B, it will be converted to nologo, resulting in infringement.

It is understood that words such as nologo, nobrand, and Brandless have been registered as trademarks.

Celebrity/Famous Band Name

Many sellers should know that infringement cases related to major well-known bands occur from time to time, and most of them are trademark infringements.

The following table lists some brand protection cases initiated by European and American bands for your reference:

In addition to band names, there are also many celebrity names (such as Marvel's father Stan Lee, Einstein, etc.) which are also minefields for trademark infringement, so sellers must be more careful.

Product Keywords

Recently, malicious competition on Amazon has become increasingly serious. Many sellers tamper with the product keywords of their competitors and register certain commonly used words as trademarks to attack their competitors, such as the cowboy in the picture below.

Certain brand trademarks

Some brands have very comprehensive trademark arrangements, registering not only the brand name, but also word and graphic trademarks. If a seller misuses a trademark, he or she will inevitably be sued.

For example, the well-known sports brand Nike is like this. In addition to Nike, it has registered many other trademarks.

Nike has also defended its trademark Dri-Fit:

In addition to text trademarks, Nike also has many pattern trademarks, and sellers can easily fall into traps if they are not careful.

Trademark infringement is the most common way for brands to protect their rights. With the big sale approaching, Amazon has stepped up its supervision. Sellers must be more aware of infringement warnings and beware of falling into the vortex of trademark infringement!
