Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, as of now, passenger traffic at European airports has dropped by -75% year-on-year. The only cargo business currently available is unable to support the normal operation of the airport, and many European airports are facing bankruptcy.

Therefore, the air freight price in Europe has risen rapidly, breaking through 40 yuan /kg in late October, and is still rising, and may exceed 50 yuan/kg . Although the lockdown in Europe has not restricted the movement of people but not goods, it has already begun to cause a logistics crisis and various surcharges have followed.

Starting from November 8 , UPS began to increase the peak season surcharges, and various freight forwarders have begun to issue notices. According to the announcement on the UPS official website, the UPS Global Express service surcharge to Europe is 16.20 yuan per kilogram, the UPS Global Express Freight service surcharge is 28.80 yuan per kilogram, and the UPS Global Express service surcharge is 15.50 yuan per kilogram.

With the recent resurgence of the epidemic abroad and the arrival of the peak season, logistics costs have been rising repeatedly. Yesterday, a seller received a "Notice on Adjusting the Rate Policy of International e-Mail Special Mail Service to the United States" from the Express Department of the Guangdong Province Postal and Delivery Division. It can be seen from the notice that the price increase for Guangdong Province's e-Postal packages to the United States will be implemented from today. Sellers who send e- Postal packages to the United States should pay attention to the issue of logistics price increases.

However, previous price increases were nationwide, but this time only the e-mail price in Guangdong has increased. The editor also asked a freight forwarder about this. He said that currently only Guangdong Province has increased the price, but he does not know whether other provinces and cities will increase the price together. He has not received any notification yet.

At present, the prices of ocean freight have increased across the board, and the prices of air freight are also rising. In addition, it is the peak season again, and there are more goods being exported. I am afraid that the logistics costs will usher in another wave of surges in the near future.
