In 2020, which products on Amazon have seen the biggest price increases? Which products have the highest return rates? Let's take a look.

The prices of these 136 products on Amazon have doubled

Recently, the Public Interest Research Group Education Fund (PIRG) studied product data for 15 household and daily necessities on Amazon, each with 50 different listings , for a total of 750 product listings , and compared the price changes of each product in 2020 .

The PIRG study found:

Of all the product listings collected, 136 listings had at least doubled in price, and 409 listings had increased in price by more than 20%, with one in seven of them being sold directly by Amazon.

It is reported that these products with rapidly rising prices are "necessary" personal care products such as masks, pulse oximeters, surgical gloves, hand sanitizer and toilet paper . 39 million listings deleted, 13,000 accounts blocked

It is reported that more than 400 listings in the report violated Amazon's fair pricing policy, but Amazon has not yet sent warnings to these sellers or deleted the illegal listings .

Amazon said that in 2020 alone , it removed more than 39 million listings and froze more than 13,000 seller accounts for attempted price gouging.

In addition, Amazon said it has referred some major offenders to federal and state law enforcement , worked with more than 40 state attorneys general across the country to prosecute bad actors, and advocated for the establishment of a federal price gouging standard.

Here the editor would like to remind the majority of cross-border sellers not to drive up prices for their own selfish interests. In serious cases, their accounts will be permanently frozen.
