Shopify AI assistant Sidekick is coming soon! It can answer merchants’ questions

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, Shopify will launch a new AI chatbot assistant called "Sidekick", which is designed to help merchants manage online stores and analyze financial performance.

The company's CEO Tobias Lütke announced the news via Twitter. Lütke said the AI assistant is designed to help businesses on their entrepreneurial journey. Every entrepreneur will encounter problems, and Sidekick will provide answers. Shopify's goal is to support all sellers because not every seller has enough resources and connections to answer their questions or complete all their tasks.

In addition, Sidekick combines data from Shopify's own platform with artificial intelligence technology to provide sellers with unprecedented new features. This will increase merchants' productivity and creativity, providing them with the tools they need to expand their business while saving time and streamlining operations.

The Sidekick tool lives in a sidebar on the right side of the Shopify dashboard, and merchants using the Shopify website builder can open it and type directly into the chat box to talk to the bot, according to Lütke.

Through the tool, merchants can talk to the Sidekick chatbot, which has the ability to understand and interpret questions or instructions so that users can talk to it to obtain information, solve doubts, generate new ideas or perform tasks. In addition, users can also manipulate the conversation itself, asking Sidekick to provide more concise instructions or rephrase or shorten their comments.

Shopify’s SidekickAI chatbot assistant is “coming soon,” according to the announcement, but the company didn’t say when.
