All walks of life are entering Amazon? You pat your competitors on the back

The Dragon Boat Festival is coming soon. I wonder how many days of vacation the sellers have and what they plan to do during the vacation?

Zongzi, red envelopes, and traveling, this is what the Dragon Boat Festival holiday should be like in our imagination.
In fact, the Dragon Boat Festival holiday for cross-border sellers is like this↓↓↓
"What did your company give out for the Dragon Boat Festival?"
"An overtime notice has been issued."
Where to go for Dragon Boat Festival? One day trip to the office, or two days if that's not enough.

What is the reality of life? Going to work, working overtime, staying up late, isn’t this the daily life of cross-border people?

During the day, I am busy with product selection, listing, promotion, and after-sales service. At night, I have to stay in front of the computer to prevent copycat sales, fearing that I will be spoofed by competitors. It really worries me.

But sellers may not realize that your competitors may be opening convenience stores, selling cakes, doing beauty salons or even working as matchmakers!

Recently, according to customer service feedback, the number of people consulting about opening Amazon stores has increased significantly, and their WeChat nicknames are all like this.

"Dear, our store has recently launched a 188 hair oil package, free shipping for orders over 200 US dollars."

Looking for a trustworthy matchmaking agency to help me find a partner? Can you help me solve my personal problems as a seller before switching to Amazon?

Buying things from my shop will make you so sweet that you want to cry!

Don’t miss the peanut, melon seed and eight-treasure porridge if you pass by.

Are you a little confused when you see the screenshots above? Are all walks of life entering Amazon? In fact, in addition to the above groups, there is another group of people who have also switched to cross-border e-commerce. You guessed it right, that is WeChat business.

Imagine if WeChat merchants switched to cross-border e-commerce, the style of the painting might be like this: Congratulations to a seller on Amazon for getting a Maserati or a space shuttle. The blurry screenshots of money transfers in the circle of friends made me doubt my life. A WeChat merchant group of thousands of people was on their way to give you a bad review...

WeChat merchants switch to Amazon? A seller complained: Dear, I still recommend that you continue to sell facial masks in WeChat Moments. Selling facial masks on Amazon requires certification, and you cannot post fake screenshots of transfers. Selling facial masks on Amazon may not even make back the advertising fees. Dear.

Back to the point, the phenomenon that many groups have switched to cross-border e-commerce shows that cross-border e-commerce is still hot, and this year has set off a new wave of entry. In China, there are especially many sellers who choose the Amazon platform. Is cross-border e-commerce really that good?

With the outbreak of the epidemic this year, the real economy has been hit hard, many companies have closed down and gone bankrupt, the employment situation is grim, and risk diversification has become a consensus among everyone.

Compared with domestic e-commerce, cross-border e-commerce has less competition, broader development prospects and larger profit margins. Many people choose to engage in cross-border e-commerce, either as their main business or as a side job.

On the one hand, cross-border e-commerce is becoming more and more well-known in China. On the other hand, the country continues to introduce policies to encourage the vigorous development of cross-border e-commerce.

In the future, more and more people will choose to settle in cross-border e-commerce platforms, and this situation will gradually become normalized, but this will also invisibly bring more competitive pressure to existing sellers.

According to Marketplace Pulse, as of April, Amazon has a total of 8,227,651 sellers worldwide, of which 2,193,419 are active sellers, and the rest are stores that have no products for sale. By April this year, 220,838 sellers have entered Amazon.

Data shows that more than half of Amazon's new sellers are from China, a record high. In March, 51% of new sellers were from China, up from 39% last year.

But it is worth noting that Amazon has more than 1 million sellers every year, but less than 10% of active sellers have annual sales of $100,000, and only 1% have annual sales of $1 million.

In other words, not all sellers on Amazon are big sellers. Top sellers are often only a minority, and there are more small and medium-sized sellers on the platform.

Any investment is risky. In recent years, Amazon’s platform policies have been frequently updated. Sellers who want to join the market must not only see the development prospects of the platform, but also weigh the pros and cons, objectively analyze the risks behind it, and think about whether they have the ability to cope with and solve problems before deciding whether to join.

I wonder if any of you sellers have friends who have switched to cross-border e-commerce? You are welcome to share your stories in the comment section.
