Free service? Plus a tax ID! It’s finally Amazon’s turn to make the most of it!

Sellers all joke that they are the leeks raised by Amazon, but recently Amazon has acted contrary to its usual behavior, and sellers can finally take advantage of Amazon !

Free to use! Also get a tax number and customs declaration number!

Recently, Amazon updated its announcement on VAT services. The details are as follows:

If your company is located outside the EU, you can now use Amazon VAT Integration to choose your tax service provider for VAT registration and reporting. Amazon will provide sellers with a one-year fee-free service, which includes VAT registration, VAT reporting, and fiscal agency. You can also get a UK and EU VAT number and EORI number for free. When you sign up for VAT Integration, you can choose one of the available tax service providers as your partner. This offer ends on April 30, 2021 .

This is undoubtedly good news for Chinese sellers whose business involves Amazon's European site.

benefit:
1. Amazon’s VAT integration service is now free for one year , and sellers can use the service for VAT registration and declaration free of charge.
2. Previously, you had to spend money to register for the UK VAT tax number and the European EORI number yourself. Now you only need to use Amazon's VAT integration service and it will be delivered to you directly .

This seems to be a good deal, as you get a year of service for free and they will also help you register your tax number and customs declaration number. Sellers in need can take advantage of Amazon’s services.

There are more benefits at the European station recently.

Cut your return processing fee in half!

Amazon Europe announced that starting from March 1, 2021, Amazon Europe will reduce the buyer return processing fee for clothing, shoes and luggage by 50% , and completely waive the buyer return processing fee for jewelry and watches .

For sellers of clothing, shoes, and bags, after-sales service has always been a headache, as these categories are the hardest hit by returns . According to data from the Royal Mail, British consumers often choose to return unsatisfactory Christmas gifts purchased last year on the first working day of the new year, which is also known as "Takeback Monday."

In the first wave of returns in 2021, 61% of consumers chose to return clothing . And the reasons for returns are also varied.

Sellers complain

Seller A: "The customer said the wedding was cancelled, so the bridesmaids and groomsmen's outfits were no longer needed. As a result, I smelled perfume on the clothes..."

Seller B: "The customer's reason for returning the clothes was that the Christmas party was cancelled due to the worsening epidemic in the UK and the clothes were no longer wanted. After returning the clothes, I found red wine stains on them..."

Seller C: "The most bizarre reason for a return I've ever encountered is that I just had sex reassignment surgery and I don't want to wear plaid shirts anymore."

Seller D: "The most shameless excuse I've seen is that the seller feels the size of the clothes is not right and asks if they can return it for a refund."

For sellers, processing these returned goods costs a lot of money, but the introduction of this policy by Amazon Europe means that the after-sales costs of sellers operating clothing, shoes, and luggage are greatly reduced , and sellers operating jewelry and watches no longer have to pay return processing fees.

Amazon Europe is not the only site that has launched promotional activities recently. In order to further help sellers tide over the difficulties, the Japanese site has also launched a fee reduction campaign!

Free returns processing! Free storage!

Starting from March 15, 2021, Amazon Japan will launch a one-year promotion to provide free Amazon Logistics buyer return processing services for "Clothing and Accessories" and "Shoes and Bags" products . In addition, starting from April 1, 2021, for clothing and footwear products on the Japanese site, Amazon will increase the number of products that can enjoy free storage and free removal services from 50 to 100 , and extend the free storage period from 90 days to 120 days (4 months) .

It seems that Amazon Japan is going to vigorously support sellers of "clothing and accessories" and "shoes and bags" to help them reduce the cost problems caused by after-sales. In addition, Amazon Japan recently launched a new feature to improve delivery speed and efficiency.

It is understood that Amazon Japan has now launched the "nearest area delivery" function , and the speed of nearby delivery through warehouses in the buyer's area is often faster than domestic delivery.

In a data survey, nearly half of Japanese people accept that the longest time it takes to receive online shopping orders is three days. The "nearby area delivery" function allows sellers to shorten the shipping time of domestic standard delivery orders, giving Japanese buyers a better shopping experience. As Japanese buyers' shopping experience improves, the sellers' review star rating will naturally improve as well.

As the COVID-19 pandemic is still brewing, Amazon obviously understands the truth that "when the nest is overturned, no eggs will be left unbroken", which is why it has postponed the annual fee adjustment to June 1, 2021. In order to further help sellers, Amazon has decided to implement some fee reductions and promotional offers for sellers. Sellers who are not able to enjoy Amazon's promotions now should not worry, as Amazon will announce other promotions.
