A large number of sellers were wrongly blocked? Amazon may strictly investigate illegal buyer accounts!

There is less than a day left before Amazon’s new “low-price goods logistics rate” policy officially takes effect on the US site .

Today, Amazon Global Selling released an announcement in this regard, comparing the "low-priced goods logistics rate" with the small and light goods program.

Although Amazon stated in the announcement that although the delivery costs of the new rate policy have increased, it is better than the Small and Light Commodity Program in terms of scope of application, registration and delivery time, most sellers are still dissatisfied with Amazon's frequent adjustments to logistics costs.

Corresponding to the frequent adjustments to delivery fees is Amazon's increasingly stringent store review practices in recent years.

As the alarm bells for compliance operations are frequently sounded, today's cross-border sellers have fully realized the importance of adhering to platform rules. While strictly following the compliance operation guidelines, they are also always paying attention to changes in the platform's product sales policies.

However, under Amazon's principle of "it is better to kill a thousand by mistake than to let one go", many sellers still failed to "escape".

A large number of seller accounts have been locked and deactivated

It is learned that in the early hours of last Saturday, a large number of sellers reported that they received emails from Amazon that their accounts had been deactivated. Immediately afterwards, the backend page displayed "Account locked" and they were unable to log in.

The email mentioned that Amazon deactivated the relevant seller account because the relevant seller may have provided inaccurate information to Amazon or used the account in other ways that violated Amazon's terms of use policy.

The picture comes from the seller communication group

It is understood that, generally speaking, there are two main situations in which the backend cannot log in:
One is that the seller's store is suspected of fraud , in which case the front desk will also show that it is not for sale;
The second is that the relevant buyer account is suspected of violating regulations , such as being stolen, providing incorrect information, high return rate, excessive use of gift cards, too many orders from new accounts, etc. In these cases, the front-end link can still be sold normally.

According to feedback from many sellers, most of the accounts locked by Amazon this time belong to the latter, and are shown as available for sale on the front desk.
But it is worth noting that these accounts are basically either new accounts that have been registered not long ago, or buyer accounts that have never been used.

Based on this, some sellers analyzed and speculated that the reason why a large number of seller accounts were locked this time was most likely that Amazon was recently reviewing the illegal operations of buyer accounts, and the relevant seller accounts were implicated because they were mistakenly judged by the system to be associated with the buyer account.

We also learned that as early as the beginning of this month, many sellers had experienced the situation of "Account locked".

At that time, industry insiders investigated the matter and found that if the account mobile phone number was modified or added during the two-step verification of login, the modified information might be automatically synchronized to the buyer's account, and the system would judge that wrong information was provided, which ultimately led to the seller's account being mistakenly blocked.

Fortunately, as we all know, Amazon deactivates accounts in order to limit unauthorized transactions and reduce fraud. Therefore, the seller's account that was deactivated due to misjudgment is likely to be restored after appeal . Amazon also provided a solution to the seller in the email: If there is any objection, you can reply to the designated email address, and then Amazon will conduct further investigation.

Here, we would also like to remind all sellers whose accounts have been mistakenly deactivated that if they want to appeal, they can submit relevant appeal materials according to the email prompts and send an appeal email to the email address designated by Amazon to explain the situation.

Refer to the appeal process

Based on the experience of some sellers who have successfully appealed and regained their accounts, the following appeal process has been summarized for reference by relevant sellers:

Step 1: Determine why your account was deactivated.

By opening a case or further checking emails and front-end status, it can be confirmed that the account is mistakenly associated with the illegal buyer account by the system.

Step 2: Prepare the appeal email and related appeal materials.

  • In the appeal email, fully explain that the store has not violated any policies and emphasize that the buyer's account has not been used for any abusive activities.
  • Provide the seller's account information (such as business license, front and back of ID card, etc.) and bank account information (such as holder's name, address, etc.).

Note: Never provide false information to Amazon during the appeal process.

Step 3: Send the above content to the email address specified by Amazon and wait for Amazon's reply.

According to feedback from some sellers who have successfully appealed and regained their accounts, due to Amazon's slow processing speed, it will take a long time to appeal back such misjudged seller accounts, so sellers need to be patient.

However, as of now, Amazon has not responded to the above situation, so the above speculation and appeal steps can only be used as a reference. I hope it can be helpful to all sellers.

I wonder if you sellers have also encountered the above situation recently? Is there a better solution? Welcome to share in the comment area~
