In 1999, Sequoia expanded its operations to Israel.

In September 2005, Zhang Fan, former director of DFJ Global Funds, and Shen Nanpeng, former president and CFO of Ctrip.com, founded Sequoia Capital China together with Sequoia Capital.

In 2006, Sequoia Capital acquired Indian venture capital firm Westbridge Capital Partners. It was later renamed Sequoia Capital India.

In June 2018, the Financial Times reported that Sequoia Capital recently completed its first round of fundraising of $6 billion as part of an $8 billion global fund.
