Amazon sellers are furious! Do low-price malls and the main site share the same ranking?

When it comes to the most popular topic in the cross-border e-commerce industry recently, it is the "Low Price Mall" launched by Amazon on November 12.

Now that several days have passed since the low-price mall went online, a series of questions such as "How are the sales performance of the sellers of this project?" and "How can we enter the low-price mall?" are still attracting much attention in the industry.

From the information we have learned, it seems that some sellers have successfully made a lot of orders through this project.

It is learned that a seller recently revealed that according to the investment manager, Amazon's low-price mall has received thousands of orders per day through the link.

Several sellers on social platforms also said that many products listed on low-priced malls have successfully achieved sales growth:
“The low-price mall is really huge.”
"Now we receive more than 100 orders a day, and some products are out of stock."
"It's a pity that we didn't receive an invitation. If we had, we would definitely rush for it."

Some sellers even ran out of stock of their products.

According to sellers’ feedback, low-value, high-demand and Christmas-related products have the best performance in the low-price mall. Although the overall profit margin is not large, the low-price mall’s considerable order volume still received a lot of “good reviews”, and many sellers believe that: as far as the current situation is concerned, Amazon’s low-price mall is profitable.

To this end, many "outsider" sellers are seeking ways to enter Amazon's low-price mall.

It is understood that although there are reports that Amazon's low-price mall may be open for entry in 2025, the project currently still adopts a store invitation system . Most of the sellers invited to settle in are sellers with operating experience, a high number of ASINs and sales, and have a relatively large number of products that meet the specifications and price requirements of the corresponding categories .

Recently, with the launch of a new round of investment promotion for Amazon’s low-price mall, many sellers have received invitations from Amazon account managers.

Among them, most sellers chose to "accept the invitation" : on the one hand, they were mainly attracted by the early benefits of Amazon's low-price mall (few sellers entering the market, less competitive pressure, fast supply chain turnover and no advertising costs, etc.), and on the other hand, they were worried that continuing to sell low-priced products on the main site would suffer a considerable impact.

Recently, while sellers at low-price malls are delighted with “thousands of orders a day”, some sellers have discovered that multiple links from low-price malls have appeared on the new product list of the same category on Amazon’s main site.

Taking the kitchen category "Whisks" as an example, the investigation found that on Amazon's US site, a product priced at US$1.89 from a low-price mall has entered the new product list in this category and is currently ranked seventh.

Since the situation was inconsistent with the internal information previously circulated in the industry, the news quickly caused an uproar in the industry. Most sellers believed that the low-price mall and the main site sharing the new product list ranking would have a major impact on the main site sellers who sell low-priced products.

Recently, many Amazon sellers have reported that after links from low-priced shopping malls appeared on the new product rankings in their categories, the number of orders for their products and similar products has declined to varying degrees:
"After the opening of this mall, I feel that the orders for the same type of products have dropped a lot."
"I have received a lot of orders for low-priced products, and low-priced mall products have already appeared on the new product list."
“Is Amazon’s low-price mall trying to compete with other platforms for low-order consumer groups, or is it trying to cut its own customers first?”

Many sellers have raised questions about this: Is there still a way for low-priced products to survive in FBA?

However, it is also observed that the Best Sellers list of the same category on the Amazon main site does not include products from low-price malls. At the same time, compared with product links on other main sites, product links from low-price malls do not show specific prices on the new product list . After clicking on the product details page, you will only see the product introduction and an entrance to Amazon's low-price mall.

Therefore, some sellers believe that Amazon’s low-price mall is still in the beta stage, and sharing the new product rankings with the main site is likely intended to attract traffic to Amazon’s low-price mall .

Further analysis shows that in the new economic cycle, what has become the mainstream of the market is not "absolute low prices" but "cost-effective consumption."

A senior seller said that the customer groups targeted by Amazon's low-price mall and some of the low-priced products on the main site are different. The products on Amazon's low-price mall are unbranded and purely rely on price advantages, which can easily attract purely price-sensitive consumers and freeloaders, while the low-priced products on the main site are more likely to be branded and of better quality, which can attract more customers who focus on cost-effectiveness.

Therefore, the industry speculates that as the scale of the low-price mall continues to expand, the products that will be impacted by the low-price mall on Amazon's main site will be more low-priced products that are "too low-priced but insufficient in quality" and have serious homogeneity.

As of now, there are still many uncertainties in Amazon's low-price mall, such as the unclear return rate and the online rumor that Amazon may open a corresponding advertising module . It is still unknown where the project will go in the future and whether the low-price products on the main site will undergo a healthy reshuffle as Amazon wishes.
