Overview

Google Ads (Google AdWords) can search for keyword and ad group ideas, query historical statistics, understand the possible performance of a group of keywords, and even combine multiple groups of keywords to form a new group of keywords. A free AdWords tool, Keyword Planner can also help you choose competitive bids and budgets for your campaigns.

How AdWords costs are calculated

1. The amount of AdWords advertising fees is entirely determined by the user.

2. No lower limit on fees

Google AdWords prevents malicious clicks

1. Detection and filtration technology

2. Advanced monitoring technology

3. The Google team uses specialized tools and techniques to examine invalid click cases one by one

Advertising Format

1. Text ads

It is the advertising slogan we write that appears in search engine search results or Adwords search alliance websites to attract users to click.

The billing method is based on bidding based on your bid and that of your competitors. You can set a maximum bid, such as 0.5 yuan. Google Ads promotion will determine a final price based on your bid and the quality score of your account. If the quality score of your account is higher than that of your competitors, you can get the best ranking at a price lower than their bid.

Therefore, account optimization is also one of the important skills for Google promotion.

2. Image Ads

It refers to a delivery method that appears in the display network of the Google Promotion Alliance, with a charging model based on CPM per thousand impressions or CPC per click.

When webmasters apply for the Google Promotion Alliance code and place it on their website, Google will display corresponding product ads based on the content of the website, and your image ads will be directly placed on their website. In this way, you only need to display the ad 1,000 times or click on it before you will be charged, which reduces the cost by at least 80%.

3. Other advertisements

In addition to the two commonly used advertising forms mentioned above, Adwords also has rich media advertising forms such as video ads, Gmail ads, remarketing ads, network alliance ads, etc.

Techniques such as remarketing promoted by Google Ads can greatly increase the conversion rate of our English website and increase sales.

Advantages

1. Cover the target accurately

Now you can advertise to people searching on Google. Even if you already offer services or products that appear in Google search results, AdWords can help you reach new audiences on Google and the Google Advertising Network.

2. More comprehensive control allows you to modify ads and adjust ad budgets. In addition, users can display ads in a variety of ad formats and even target ads to users who use a specific language and are located in a specific geographic location.

3. Measurable value return has no minimum spending limit and no delivery time requirement.

If you choose the CPC option, you'll pay only when someone clicks your ad. In other words, every dollar of your budget will bring you new potential customers.

4. Cross-platform advertising

Whether your customers are on a computer, tablet, phone or in an app, you’re covered.

Practical application of listing

1. Help quickly understand the common search habits of users of target products in a specified country/region, including language expressions and search starting points

2. Quickly understand the difference in search volume between different product descriptions

3. Combine the characteristics of your own products to obtain a keyword list for your own products and apply it to the SEO of listings and on-site advertising.

4. Understand the market during the initial product development

How to Register

1. Search for Google AdWords or Google Ads on the Internet and click on the official website. Click the Register button.

2. Log in to the Gmail mailbox that has been registered.

3. After logging in, the page will prompt you to fill in the website information. Adwords accounts allow the placement of landing pages on non-registered websites. So it doesn’t matter if you have multiple websites, you can fill in one.

4. Next, fill in your business information and campaign information, including account budget, location, keywords, advertising creatives, etc.

5. After the next step, fill in the account payment information. This is a test account and I don't plan to open it. So I fill in the personal information and the address information casually. Select transfer as the payment method. Confirm.

6. After filling in all the information, the account will prompt you that you have successfully registered and you can place orders in your account. If you do not want to place orders and just want to understand the account information or use the tools, you can just not pay.

Historical Development

Google launched AdWords in 2000.

In 2005, Google launched the Google Advertising Professional (GAP) program to certify individuals and companies who completed AdWords training and passed an exam.

In 2008, Google launched the Google Online Marketing Challenge. The first and second place winners in 2008 were both students from the Department of Computer Science at Tsinghua University. The first and second place winners in 2009 were also Chinese.

In July 2016, Google launched Showcase Shopping ads.

Starting from August 2016, Google decided to limit the viewing of specific keyword data to active AdWords accounts. Users who have not reached the minimum advertising investment amount can only see the data range, not the specific numbers.

In October 2017, Google revised its AdWords daily budget cap, which was previously set at 120% of the preset daily budget, to a maximum of 200%. The change, which was introduced on the same day as the announcement, sparked criticism from paid search professionals, although Google later clarified that the change would only affect short-term campaigns of less than 30 days, and that for campaigns running longer than 30 days, the overage fees would be refunded.

In July 2018, Google announced that its iconic business Google AdWords would be officially renamed Google Ads. The Google website will also be changed from adwords.google.cn to ads.google.com.
