Starting August 1, 2019, manufacturers who identify products for the packaging improvement program will be charged an additional surcharge of $1.99 per unit shipped for products that do not meet the requirements. Brands that upgrade their packaging to meet the requirements by the deadline will receive a $1 credit for each unit shipped.

award

Amazon will offer these early suppliers a $1.00/unit incentive for completing packaging certification by August 1, 2019. This incentive is only available for products that are certified to Amazon's Eco-Friendly Packaging Program guidelines (Tier 1 - FFP or Tier 2 - SIOC) between September 17, 2018 and July 31, 2019. The incentive is intended to assist with transition costs associated with the program and will be issued as a one-time incentive in August 2019.

For products

Only items larger than 18" x 14" x 8" or 20 lbs or more are eligible. All products must be designed and certified in-house as ready-to-install (Tier 1 - FFP or Tier 2 - SIOC).

Target audience

Amazon suppliers and FBA sellers are audited.

How to authenticate

The first step is to conduct Amazon packaging testing on the product: ISTA-6 Amazon.com SIOC or ISTA-6 Amazon.com Over-Boxing (Tier-3 Prep-Free Packaging / PFP)

The second step is to submit the test report to the Amazon Supplier Online Help Center for certification.

Special reminder from Amazon official website: The test report must be provided by a third-party laboratory certified by the ISTA organization!
