Founder of Logivan

The founder is Linh Pham, who was previously a technology analyst at Goldman Sachs and graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in entrepreneurship and psychology.

Before founding Logivan, Pham worked in a manufacturing plant for a year. She discovered the problem of empty trucks on return trips and thought it was a huge waste and damage to the environment.

The Logivan platform can track the location of goods and trucks in real time, which can not only optimize truck routes but also reduce empty return trips. Currently, Vietnam's logistics industry has accumulated a lot of funds and is showing an upward trend. However, due to the inefficiency of the local road network, the logistics industry is also fragmented, and there is no leader to integrate and consolidate this service. Logivan was created to address this pain point.

Logivan operating model

The Logivan marketplace provides a central platform to track the location of freight and trucks, which can not only optimize truck routes but also reduce empty return trips.

To reserve a truck, customers visit the Logivan marketplace online and indicate how many trucks they need and what they want to haul.

Logivan only accepts first mile and middle mile (such as warehouse to distribution center) and intercity transport. This is a strictly B2B service and only provides heavy freight trucks. So if you just need to move, please don't use it.

Once a customer sends a request and sees an estimated price, someone from Logivan will contact them to schedule a truck. Customers can book a truck and have it shipped the same day.

Logivan Development

In November 2017, Logivan won a startup competition held by Uber in Vietnam, received sponsorship from Uber, and went to Silicon Valley to receive guidance from Uber CTO Thuan Pham.

In March 2018, Vietnamese freight platform Logivan received a seed round investment of US$600,000. Logivan will use this capital to expand its business to Ho Chi Minh City and other major economic centers in Vietnam to provide services for companies with high transportation needs.

In August 2018, LOGIVAN announced the completion of its Series A financing of US$1.75 million. The company’s current round of financing was led by Ethos Partners, and previous investors Insignia Ventures Partners and VinaCapital Ventures also participated in the company’s current round of financing.

In February 2019, Vietnamese logistics and transportation platform LOGIVAN announced that it had received $5.5 million in financing from two angel investors and venture capital firm Alpha JWC. The company said in a statement that the new funds will be used for data analysis and cross-platform integration to improve supply chain efficiency. LOGIVAN will also use AI technology to verify and protect information, understand user needs, and improve forecasting accuracy. To date, the startup has raised $7.9 million in funding.
