Linio is the largest e-commerce platform in Latin America, mainly serving consumers in the Spanish-speaking region of Latin America. Its business scope covers Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Chile, Argentina and other Latin American countries.

Linio was founded in 2002 by Fernando and is affiliated with Rocket Internet, a European Internet incubator company;


It focuses on the Spanish-speaking market and has opened businesses in eight Latin American countries with more than 2,000 employees. At the end of 2014, Linio began to do cross-border business and launched Chinese investment promotion in 2015, allowing Chinese sellers to sell in five national sites including Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Panama and Peru.


Currently, the platform has 500 million monthly visits, 4.5 million App installations, 6 million email push subscribers, and over 5 million Facebook fans. The platform has over 10,000 sellers, over 3 million products, and 95% of orders are shipped within 48 hours.


There are 500 million consumers in Latin America, 60% of whom shop online through Linio.


Sellable products


Sellers can sell almost any product on Linio, with major categories including electronics, home furnishings, clothing, health and beauty, and baby products. All products sold must be legal and authentic, brand new and able to pass customs in the destination country.

Linio will assess the daily status of merchants' stores, including on-time delivery, order cancellations, returns, etc. For penalties for withholding payments and store closures, please refer to the following:


1. When uploading SKU pricing on Linio, please use local currency to price, and never quote in US dollars. The exchange rates of Linio's four sites in Mexico, Chile, Peru, and Colombia are different, so be very careful when converting exchange rates. Do not confuse the exchange rate. The exchange rate difference is very large. If there are malicious orders caused by wrong prices, you can only force delivery or permanently close the store;


2. Linio requires all sellers to send goods by post, so that the postal parcels must be truly registered, not falsely registered, and not by ordinary mail, otherwise the payment will be temporarily withheld;


3. Linio prohibits the sale of counterfeit goods. Once counterfeit goods are found, the store will be forced to close and the funds will be frozen.

Q: What if I don’t speak Spanish?


A: You don’t need knowledge of Spanish to sell products on Linio. The e-commerce platform is completely English-speaking, and the staff speaks English and Chinese. Sellers’ product descriptions can be in English or Spanish, and the platform provides content creation and translation services. There is also a local team that will handle all marketing, customer communication, and customer service. Paid advertising services are also available.


Q: How to receive payment?


A: Sellers can receive payments in USD every two weeks via Payoneer or wire transfer.


Q: How do I manage pricing and inventory?


A: Sellers will have access to the Seller Center backend where they can add products, change prices, and update inventory. The Seller Center is in English and is easy to use.


Q: How do you ship products to Latin America?


A: Linio recommends that sellers provide postal and express shipping options for all products. At the same time, Linio also has dedicated local e-commerce logistics professionals to help sellers find the best way to sell and transport products in Latin America.
