What is StyleLend? StyleLend Review

StyleLend is a peer-to-peer rental marketplace. If you own a lot of designer clothes, you can make money with Style Lend. This platform allows you to rent out your designer clothes for 10% of the retail price. This method allows users to try out the latest styles without breaking their budget, and the renter can easily make some extra money.

About StyleLend

As a clothing borrower, you only need to select the clothing and size on StyleLend, and then wait for the clothing to be delivered to your door. If you have brand-name clothing to rent, you have two options: one is to do it completely DIY, contact the renter, send the clothing, and pick it up a week later, and 70% of the rental funds will fall into the pocket of the renter; you can also ask StyleLend to help you contact the rental delivery, in which case you need to split the rent with StyleLend.

In order to ensure the quality of the clothes on the platform, the regular price of the clothes included in StyleLend is generally not less than $150. On the website, there are everything from expensive big-name works to skirts for college students to attend parties. The rental price of a small Alexander Wang dress that originally costs $600 is $80 for a week. There is also a special area for renting "discounted" skirts, and the weekly rental fee is only $10-20.

Founding Background

The founder of StyleLend is Lona Alia Duncan, who has been a model since she was 16 years old, walking the runway and wearing luxury clothes. She has also starred in commercials for brands such as Versace and Guess. However, after entering college, she joined a software company, but soon after quit her job to study business and then start a business. StyleLend is her first project, which was incubated in Y Combinator.

In the United States, ladies need to dress up formally for special occasions such as cocktail receptions, parties, weddings, etc. However, a designer dress often costs hundreds or thousands of dollars, which is unaffordable for ordinary consumers. Therefore, Alia Duncan hopes to help people save money on clothing for special occasions through StyleLend, so that they don’t have to buy cheap knockoff clothing, and at the same time support environmental protection and reduce waste.
