Two-tier differentiation! Amazon verification treats new and old accounts differently!

During the May Day holiday, Amazon sent a large number of " Consumer Notification Act" verification email notifications. Some sellers may have encountered many bugs because it was their first time to do so and this year a large number of verifications were conducted in a centralized manner.

The verification wave is coming, and sellers are in a variety of situations

In fact, sellers have been receiving relevant emails since March this year. Judging from the feedback, this year's verification process is very different from last year. At first, sellers were frightened by the yellow warning in the performance notification, but in fact, this year's verification has become much simpler.

According to the official news released by Amazon at the end of March, sellers only need to take the following three steps to complete the annual certification:

1. Click the [Check your account information] alert bar below the "Complete your priority actions" prompt banner on the Account Health page, or click the [Resolve issues] button on the right side of the banner to enter the information check page;

2. After completing the first step, the seller will see the full information submitted. If there is no need to update the current information or all updates have been completed, click the [Continue] button;

3. After completing the second step, the seller will see the information overview page again, confirm the accuracy and timeliness of the information, check the confirmation box, and then click the [Certify] button to complete the certification.

It is worth noting that the verification time is much shorter than last year. Sellers must complete the verification within 10 days after the first notification, otherwise the account will be at risk of being deactivated. At the same time, sellers must check the information and do not submit blindly. If the seller completes the verification within the specified time, a "Thank you" banner will appear on the seller's account health page, and the seller will also receive an email confirmation of the completion of the verification.

However, some sellers may have encountered many bugs because this was their first time doing this and large-scale centralized verification was conducted this year.

1. Repeated verification notifications . After the verification confirmation email was sent, several verification notification emails were sent one after another.

2. The entry for submitting information is inaccessible. When I clicked on the edit information, it showed "There was a problem, please try again later". I tried many ways but still couldn't solve it, including changing the browser and clearing cookies.

There are many sellers who have the same trouble. When submitting, it shows "Business information cannot be modified at all"; some are asked to authenticate their identity after successfully entering the editing page.

Many situations arise, and the most typical problem is: the account information has changed, how to pass the review? According to the survey, this situation is very common. After a year, many sellers' store entities have changed, such as the business license address has changed, the company legal person has been replaced, the business license has been cancelled...

Can I verify the purchased account once?

There are also a group of lucky sellers who have passed the verification. Some sellers said that Amazon's audit this year felt very simple and casual, and they just submitted the purchased accounts directly and passed.

As of now, the following is a summary of the two situations verified by the Consumer Act 2024:

New Account Verification

For new accounts that did not trigger the Consumer Act certification in 2023, the verification process is relatively simple. Sellers only need to complete the required certification steps one by one according to the requirements of the Amazon platform. Since it is a new account and there is no previous certification record, you only need to ensure that the submitted information is accurate and it will usually pass the verification smoothly.

Old account verification

For old accounts that have triggered the Consumer Act and successfully passed the certification in 2023, the situation is more complicated. If the seller directly clicks "Continue to Certify" in 2024 without making any changes to the information, the backend may receive a pop-up warning. This is because the Amazon system will continuously monitor the certification status of the account and re-verify it based on the seller's business conditions and information changes.

If the seller ignores the pop-up warning and continues to submit the certification, although he may receive a notification of "certification successful", it does not mean that the problem has been completely solved. Because the Amazon system may pop up a new certification prompt again at some point in the future for the changes made to the seller's information. This may cause unnecessary trouble and distress to the seller.

To avoid this, sellers with old accounts are advised to carefully check their account information and profile changes when they conduct the Consumer Act verification in 2024. If any changes or updates are found, they must be updated and modified before submitting for certification. This ensures that the account's certification status is always consistent with Amazon's system requirements, reducing the risk of subsequent problems.

Sellers' review strategy to avoid pitfalls

Senior sellers concluded: If there are changes in account information, just take the opportunity to modify and submit it directly. Stay calm, it will usually be passed easily. If you encounter other audits, there is nothing you can do. If you encounter them, take them seriously and pass the audit. Because there is no other way.

Xiao Ant has compiled some valuable experiences of sellers after they stepped into the trap. Please read carefully:

  • 1. If the business license address has changed, be sure to go to the backend "Account Information-Business Information-Company Name" and make sure to fill in the changed address.

  • 2. When modifying corporate information, it is recommended to use a credit card bill as proof of personal address. Currently, the credit card bill of China Merchants Bank can show the address.

  • 3. When doing bank verification, the correct method is to upload the bank statement and bank certification documents and submit them together. If the information is wrong, such as only submitting the receipt account statement, the account will be directly blocked.

  • 4. The name of the legal person filled in the background must be exactly the same as the name of the holder of the third-party payment account, including capitalization and order. For example, if the background is: AABBCC, the holder of the payment account must also be: AABBCC. Otherwise, verification will fail.

In short, what is coming will come, and you can’t avoid it. As long as the seller follows the regulations and the new information can meet various audit requirements, then there will be no big problem in passing the certification this year. Otherwise, whether you change the subject in advance or wait until the consumer law is triggered before making changes, there will be risks.
