Practical Tips | Inventory management is a mess? Do you really understand Amazon inventory reports?

Amazon Inventory Reports allow buyers and sellers to understand stock availability, ASIN details, prices, and other important inventory information.

How to download Amazon inventory reports?

➡Log in to your Amazon Seller Central account. Place your mouse over “Inventory” and a drop-down list will appear. Click “Inventory Reports”.

➡ On the Inventory Reports page, select “Active listing Report” from the drop-down menu and click “Request Report” to download your report.

You will get a file in .txt format, which you can open with Notepad. To understand the data in the report, open the file with Microsoft Excel.

What does the Amazon Inventory Report cover?

Item-name：

It is the title of your product listing. Amazon only displays 80 characters in this section, shortening any lengthy characters.

Item-description：

This field contains the product description of the Amazon listing.

Listing-id:

This is an internal ID that Amazon creates to track your product listings.

Seller-SKU:

This field provides details of the SKU assigned to the listing.

Quantity:

Shows the current Amazon inventory status.

Price:

The price of your product.

Open-dat:

Displays the date and time the listing was created in the format YYYY-MM-DD HH-MM-SS.

Product-id-type:

This id is generated when the listing is created.

asin1:

The ASIN of the product listed.

will-ship-international:

Refers to your shipping settings, 1 = Yes, 0 = No.

product-ID:

This is the value of your product ID, which can be ASIN, ISBN, EAN/UPC, etc.

Fulfillment-channel：

Here you can see the shipping settings. There are two main shipping methods for Amazon sellers: FBA and FBM.

How to use Amazon Inventory Reports?

Edit Sales Price

Download the inventory loader file (you can select specific categories if you want). You can enter the discounted prices for a specific period and then upload the file.

Batch edit delivery time

Often during peak seasons, you may need to change the delivery time of an order. This gives you a lot of flexibility while avoiding being warned and suspended by Amazon.

Clearing inventory

Check the Active Listings report regularly to make sure there is no old or incorrect inventory.

How to use the Cancelled Listings inventory report?

The fields in the Cancelled Listings report are similar to those in the Active Listings report. However, you cannot find out why a listing was deactivated. Therefore, it is best to monitor your performance notifications in Seller Central Account Health. The Cancelled Listings report will help you view disabled listings or listings that have been blocked by Amazon.

Also, in the Inventory section, hover over Inventory Reports and click Report Type.

You can find additional reports in the drop-down menu, including:

❖Open Listings Report;

❖All Listings Report;

❖Sold Listings Report;

❖Inactive Listings Report;

❖Amazon-fulfilled Inventory Report;

❖Listing Quality and Suppressed Listing Report.

Select the report you want and click Request Report to download the report.
