What to do if Amazon product sales suddenly drop?

There are two reasons for the sudden drop in Amazon product sales, internal and external reasons


1. Internal reasons:
1. If you change the node of a well-performing listing, that is, change the category, it will cause the Amazon A9 algorithm to re-match the product's keywords and your target customers, so the traffic will also change, some may get better, some may get worse. (If you find that your product node does not match the product, you want to modify it to a suitable product node to generate a drainage effect, and vice versa.)
2. If your product exposure is getting lower and lower, the product ranking is also getting lower and lower, which means that your exposure is constantly decreasing, traffic is being lost, and the order volume is also decreasing. (Reason: Amazon also wants to make money and gives you enough traffic, but you don’t have the number of orders, so the traffic will naturally tend to products with better performance, and less will be allocated to you.)
3. If you have recently received a product complaint, Amazon will downgrade your listing. For example, for some products, the weight is reduced invisibly. This is manifested in a decrease in product quantity, traffic, and BSR ranking.
Countermeasures: If you find a problem that has been complained about, make corrections immediately, appeal immediately, send an email to Amazon to assure them that it will not happen again, and take some actions on the product, such as lowering the price of the product, adding reviews, and raising the bid price of the ad to get more traffic.
4. Offer product discounts and giveaways.
5. You can be reinstated after the appeal is approved, but you need to wait patiently.
6. I recently swiped my bills and reviews. Although Amazon did not pursue the matter, your rights have been reduced. (Reason: The buyer account you used may not be safe, and Amazon detected that you were manipulating the rankings.)
7. Performance evaluation is reduced, such as whether the email is replied in time, ODR, and refund rate are increased. (After more than 24 hours, click on the spam and reply. Don't reply all the time. If it is a return problem, it is mostly due to product quality problems, so product quality also needs to be improved)
8. Out of stock. In fact, out of stock is the biggest problem affecting our sales. Out of stock will seriously affect the sales of popular products. So in order to avoid this situation, when the peak season comes, sellers should calculate your recent sales and prepare 3-4 times the usual stock. It is also recommended to choose a more stable and fast logistics.

2. External reasons:
1. Lost the gold shopping cart, was copied by others, and the new model was put on the product page by competitors
Solution: Crack down on copycat sales, find out the reason why the gold shopping cart was snatched, and open a case to handle it.
2. Add your Amazon listing to be included in the Add-on Item. Add-on Item is a cheap product.
Solution: For products with a unit price close to $10, you may wish to slightly increase the price. According to actual measurements, once the price exceeds the $10 limit, the Add-on Item logo will automatically disappear;
3. Your product is a seasonal product or a holiday product. The reason is: seasonal products will lead to unstable sales as the seasons go by, while holiday products are disposable consumables that will only be popular during holidays, such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
4. Your product has recently received negative reviews, which has caused the listing weight to drop and traffic to decrease. Solution: increase positive reviews, modify negative reviews, and communicate with customers via email. First find out why you were given a negative review (very important)
5. Is your product participating in the recent flash sales? If celebrities outside the site participate, there will be more traffic. But after the flash sales period, it will return to its original state.
