Facebook is one of the main marketing platforms for sellers. However, many sellers find that their link posts have few clicks. How can they increase the clicks?
Here are some ways to optimize your link posts and increase clicks:
1. Use Facebook Ads Manager to upload an image link in a link post Uploading pictures in Facebook ads can quickly attract users' attention. What if you want to use picture links in your posts but don't want to spend money on ads? Then we have to introduce the "black technology" that can share pictures without spending money.
- First, open Facebook Ads Manager, start creating an ad, and upload an image.
- After creation, turn off the Enable button in the Campaign options (as shown in the picture);
- Click the main menu on the left side of the Ads Manager and select Page Posts in the Create & Manage column;
- Then find the ad post you just created and click the checkbox on the left;
- Click Actions and choose to publish or schedule publishing.
2. Enhance your post copy Facebook posts allow you to enter three lines of text. If you want to extend the text, a See More link will appear. Users can click on this link to view the full content. So the first three lines of your post must entice users to click. There are two ways to make your copy more attractive: Emojis can help your audience quickly understand your post, and colorful expressions can make your content stand out more. Sometimes the emojis displayed on Facebook may be different from those displayed in the keyboard. You can use Emojipedia to search for the display status of emojis on Facebook. - Use Feeling/Activity in the Facebook post editing window to display your feelings and status. There are 13 types for you to choose from. Once selected, it will appear at the top of the post without taking up space in the post content.
Link posts can show clickable areas, but some users still don’t know where to enter. So you can keep the link, although the layout is not good, but it can bring extra clicks.
The preview image of the link should be able to stop scrolling when the mouse passes over it. The pixels of the image should reach 1200 x 600. Most links have more than one image, and you can't be sure which one Facebook will display. You can use the Facebook Sharing Debugger tool to set the image to be displayed.
If you are using WordPress, you can use the Yoast plugin to select the images to display.
5. Let users save link posts What if a user sees your post but doesn’t have time to click on the link or can’t? Allowing users to save the post is a solution so they can view it later and click on it.
6. Study your audience’s behavior to find the best time to post There are a lot of articles about the best time to post on Facebook. But the best time to post is actually very different for everyone. You can find your own best time to post by following these steps: - First, analyze your Facebook link posts to see if your popular posts have a regular posting schedule.
- Draw a user image and see when they read your posts. Different audiences have different reading times. For example, if your customers are stay-at-home parents, then the best time to post is after their children go to school in the morning. Users who take public transportation to work have time to read posts on their way to work. Manual laborers generally only have time to check when they get home in the evening.
When you understand your customer types and when they browse, you can optimize your posting schedule accordingly.
Finally, let’s create a Facebook pageview report using Google Analytics . First, click Customization , then select Custom Reports on the left. Click the New Custom Report button: In General Information , give the report a name. Then add Sessions as a metric and select Day of Week and Hour as the reference metric in the Dimension Drilldowns section.
Select Social Network in the filter, select Facebook , and finally save the report. Open the report, click Secondary Dimension , select Hour , and you can see what time Facebook users visit your link.
Download this report and save it as XLS so that you can sort it by time in Excel, which will help you quickly understand the best publishing time and make corresponding adjustments.
