Can you get on the BS list without writing Search Terms? Should ST be separated by spaces or symbols? How to write it to achieve the best effect?

Anonymous user

My C position

Today I checked the search terms written by different operations staff in the company, and it seems that everyone writes them differently.
So I would like to discuss with you how to write these search terms to achieve the greatest effect.

Assume that the link has the following keywords (using Bluetooth headset as an example)
  • Wireless Earbuds Bluetooth Headphones (appeared in the listing)
  • ear phone (appeared in the listing)
  • Wireless earbuds (not shown in the listing)
  • Cordless earbuds (not shown in the listing)
(This is not for this category, it is just an example for the following operation writing, so please forgive me)

Operation A:
  • Wireless Earbuds Bluetooth Headphones, ear phones, wireless earbuds, cordless earbuds
    Regardless of whether the keywords have been embedded, write all the keywords separated by commas in the search team;

Operation B/C:
  • wireless earbuds, cordless earbuds
    B only adds words that have not appeared in the listing, separated by commas;
    C Same as above, but with spaces instead of commas;

Operation D:
  • wireless cordless earbuds
Add words that have not appeared in the listing, and do not write repeated words. Here, "earbuds" is used only once.

Amazon official example:

The effective search terms in the Amazon example seem to be supplementary terms surrounding the product;

During the internal communication process, a colleague reported that several core keywords of the product suddenly disappeared in the natural position. After opening a case, the customer service said that because these keywords were not buried in the ST, they were not included in Amazon.

That’s all. I hope you can give some different ideas and suggestions.

PS: Why did this problem occur recently? Because the new product didn’t sell well, so I rethought whether the link could be optimized. Then I discovered the writing habits of different colleagues, and I would like to discuss it with you here. I wish you all great sales~

I usually rank the collected keyword library comprehensively (comprehensive ranking based on keyword relevance, search volume, and number of sellers), and then write the top-ranked words into the title, try to incorporate as many words in positive order as possible, and make the title smooth. At this time, some words with good comprehensive strength but cannot be integrated into the title can be used in the search keywords:

1. Merge as many keywords as possible
2. Try to avoid or minimize the number of repeated keywords
3. Omit prepositions
4. No punctuation
5. Small sellers should try to find long-tail words to fill the 250 characters
6. The closer you are to the front, the greater the weight. It is best not to use a title that has already been used.
7. Don’t fill in other people’s brand names

Search termsRepeatedly fill in related words? No need
What factors influence the writing of search terms?
1. Keyword matching
2. The higher the keyword match, the higher the search weight.
3. Keyword competitiveness

Let’s go back to the question, how to write it?
I will use the software on the market to check the keywords of similar competing products, search each keyword separately in the front-end, and finally remove all the duplicate keywords, including the singular and plural English words, remove the prepositions and control the number of characters to within 250, and finally paste them in the search terms. What I understand by ST is actually a database of keywords related to your product, allowing Amazon to recognize free combinations, such as 26 English characters, and then freely combine them into words.

Alex Xiaobaibai • Shandong • 2024-03-10 08:50

"Finally, remove all duplicate keywords, including the singular and plural forms of English." Does this mean only keep the singular or the plural form, or both? Thank you~

Open Society • Shenzhen • 2024-03-11 15:27

@Alex小白白: You can keep either the singular or the plural form. The same word does not distinguish between the singular and the plural, so you can choose either one. (Personal opinion~)

myn ameisqing • Changsha • 2024-03-12 08:50

@Open Society : I also usually keep the singular form, ST does not distinguish between singular and plural @Alex小白白

Mayflower - The Beauty

ST does not repeat itself, meaning that ST does not repeat itself, does not use plural forms, prepositions, articles, or punctuation marks.
What ST needs to consider is the traffic and relevance of keywords, and then weigh the importance of the two, put the important ones in front, and put the long-tail words and product attributes in the back. Amazon reads keywords in order, and then combines them by itself, giving priority to the ones at the front.

Generally, the nouns are placed in the front (once again, pay attention to relevance, don’t put them in the front just because they have a lot of traffic, otherwise they may not convert), and some adjectives and qualifiers are placed in the back. There is a lazy way to directly search for keywords in the backend brand analystic to see the traffic size, from large to small, and then write them in one by one, removing duplicate words, and this basically will not make mistakes. Later, look at the conversion and move the ones with poor results to the back or delete them.

After all, ST only tells the Amazon system what your product is and asks it to match you with corresponding buyers. Don’t sell you a men’s bag and match you with a women’s handbag, or even just get the traffic for a kettle.

It is still necessary to embed the words that appear in the listing in the ST. The role of the ST is to help the system identify what your link is about. Do not put roots that are not related to the product, which can easily lead to incorrect link labels and inaccurate traffic.

I usually repeat the two core words that have appeared in the title at the beginning. These two words are completely in order and in line with customer search habits. The rest is to do a frequency analysis of the collected keywords, follow the frequency order, refer to the search volume, and complete the ST.

Sellers on the US site can put the Spanish version of the core words in the ST, which can also bring you a lot of traffic.

iGroupDeals.com

The main purpose of filling in search terms is to make up for the words that do not appear in the link. If there are words in your copywriting, such as the five-point long description of the title, QA, and comments, the system will actually recognize them. In addition, Amazon matching also has broad matching, complementary words, etc. That is, you will find that even if you do not write this word, it can still be displayed in the foreground when you search for this word in the subsequent search box.

In fact, many people still don't write this. You can still place an order. You don't need to pay much attention to your writing style. Just include it in the link copy.

I have done a test. You can try to see if your traffic can be generated without filling in the keywords even if you have all five points in the title.

@大角牛勇敢前进: I have tried it, and I still get the ranking without filling in st. Now many new models don’t write st anymore.

jaksho wtime • United States • 2024-03-09 13:29

ST is very weak now. Besides, the basic words in your 5 points are all covered, so it is difficult for ST to add useful words.

iGrou pDeals.com • Dongguan • 2024-03-09 21:52

@jakshowtime : Indeed, in fact, ST is just a supplementary copy.

Nightmare at dawn. • Shenzhen • 2024-03-11 12:18

@大角牛勇敢前进: I don’t write ST in almost all of my links now, unless the title is really too long, it doesn’t have any impact at all. The biggest negative impact is that ST will cause a lot of messy combination of words to come into your automatic advertising traffic, what’s the point of wasting so much money...

Good question, it is easy to be overlooked but I will be confused every time I write. My habit is
Wireless Earbuds Bluetooth Headphones; ear phone; wireless earbuds; cordless earbuds;
Regardless of whether the keyword has been embedded, separate all keywords with semicolons and write them in the search team

Yannis Zion - 00s social media is not popular at all

My usual way of writing is: the first core word + all other words with related attributes. No commas in ST, all lowercase. In my opinion, core words are necessary. The title, five points, description, and ST all mention my core words, even if they are repeated, but it always improves the weight to a certain extent. Compared with competing products, even a 0.1 increase is necessary in my opinion.

I usually don’t write serch terms, because the five points and A+ are enough to cover all the terms.

Anonymous user • Shenzhen • 2024-03-23 11:44

Alas, why are so many people criticizing me? ST is useless now. I haven't written ST for several years. You can try it yourself to know whether it has any impact or not. Unless you have too many words and five A+ cannot fill them, I think it is unnecessary to fill ST again. Most people probably just want to seek peace of mind.

Fuyun Yike • Shenzhen • 2024-03-27 14:34

I agree. Many people want peace of mind. I haven't written search terms for my links for several years, but it still doesn't affect my ability to get my products on the BS list. I really don't understand why so many people have to write search terms and study other people's search terms?

D ubloadz • Xiamen • 2024-03-27 16:01

I also agree that repeating search terms is meaningless. A qualified five-point description and title already covers most of the search terms.

It's very busy to hoe the field • Xuchang • 2024-03-30 11:06

The most important thing is the one in the title. ST is a supplement and now most people just want peace of mind. What if it is useful?

kk b123 • Dongguan • 2024-07-20 16:58

Yes, if you are familiar with the product, there is actually no need to write it. There are only a few key words over and over again. The most important ones are the first few big words. If the big words are not available, it is useless to write any ST.

Generally, when I first start to promote, the CPC is too expensive, especially for popular keywords in hot-selling categories. I will also choose some long-tail keywords as the main keywords to promote, and add keywords such as Spanish, French, and Italian. After all, the United States is a country of immigrants, and not everyone can speak English.

wi ngchu • Shenzhen • 2024-03-14 14:01

Can advertisements with keywords such as Spanish, French, Italian, etc. also generate orders?

Martindale • Shenzhen • 2024-03-15 09:37

@wingchu : Spanish will probably be sold, after all, it is the second most spoken language in the US, and many products have Spanish as their main selling words.

win gchu • Shenzhen • 2024-03-15 09:54

@Martindale : Ok, thanks a lot. I haven't typed Spanish in the US.

Re neeWu • Shenzhen • 2024-03-21 11:39

That makes sense. One-third of the U.S. population speaks Spanish, so Spanish is indeed acceptable.

I usually use the English ; to separate. The examples in the Amazon backend use this to separate. Then I will try to write as few repeated words as possible. For example, if there is an attribute word and a product name, I will only write the attribute word. Many people in our company directly copy the title, or even do not write it, and it still sells well, so it is better to have this thing than not, but the weight should not be large.

te deast • Shenzhen • 2024-03-08 16:50

The official statement seems to be that you should not use symbols to separate them.

It's very busy to hoe the field • Xuchang • 2024-03-16 16:10

The official explanation is to use spaces, but now in the examples they use semicolons

I don't quite understand what it means to avoid repeated words. For example, if I sell night lights, I feel that every keyword I fill in should include the word "light", so doesn't this have to be repeated? Does this count as repeated?

R OOT09 • Suzhou • 2024-03-08 14:11

Of course, light can appear. Try not to repeat it. For example, if there is a word called night light, and the other word you want to write is light white, then it is best to write it as night light white, which saves characters. For example, if you want to write two words, LED night light and night light white, then it is best to write it as LED night light white. It is best not to repeat the phrase.

FD WWDWSX • Shenzhen • 2024-03-08 15:48

@ROOT09 : Does repetition have any effect or is it just a waste of words? I don't quite understand

Want to learn Amazon • Shantou • 2024-03-15 14:44

@ROOT09 : I am also learning to write listings recently, and I also use this method. I would like to ask how to insert the keywords of the five bullet points and long descriptions. Do you keep the attribute words of the keywords, such as red light, and omit the light at the end, so that only red is reflected, so that the sentence is smooth? I find that I am very mechanical and can only add words to the sentence without any hesitation.

l ausyhi • Guangzhou • 2024-04-01 10:16

@想学好Amazon : I would directly split it into the subject. It's a bit hard, but it guarantees that the grammar is correct and it expresses what you want. It doesn't affect foreigners' reading at all and it can speed up the collection of keywords.

I'm busy hoeing the fields.

Agree with: Good Shepherd, Hit You with a Lollipop, Kaka is just posting

Amazon explains that search keywords should not be separated by punctuation, but the example here does use semicolons to separate them.
