Wedding boom in the US! Sales to exceed $68 billion in 2022!

It is learned that according to statistics from the wedding planning website The Knot, approximately 2.6 million weddings were held in the United States this year, an increase of 18.2% from 2.2 million in 2019, setting a record high.

It is reported that due to the impact of the epidemic blockade, a large number of weddings have been canceled, postponed or reduced in the past few years. As many states in the United States have announced the relaxation of mask orders, the United States will usher in a wedding boom in 2022.

According to the Wedding Report reported by CNN, total sales of wedding-related products and services, such as clothing and catering, will increase by 31% year-on-year in 2022 to US$68.66 billion, far higher than the level before the epidemic.

The survey shows that although affected by the epidemic, inflation, and global supply chain issues, Americans are willing to increase consumption support for "weddings". Since the epidemic, 69% of wedding expenses have exceeded the initial budget, and the cost is much higher than expected.

According to fashion brand Anthropologie, American brides this year are favoring trendier, bolder and sexier looks, a shift from their past love of "casual wear."

It is reported that due to the rise of the wedding economy in the United States, Azazie, an online retailer of wedding dresses and accessories, has seen a 200% increase in sales since 2022. Azazie is able to provide customers with free fabric samples and support customers to try on products at home.

It is learned that many retailers are now deploying the "wedding supplies" sales strategy. For example, Kohl's has increased its inventory space for "dresses" by 75%; Eloquii, a subsidiary of Walmart, has launched a "plus-size" wedding dress series, targeting the "obese group"; Macy's and Kohl's Corp are also preparing inventory for evening dresses and party clothes.
