Walmart and streaming platform Roku reach a cooperation! Launch TV shopping!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, on June 18, Walmart announced a partnership with TV streaming platform Roku, which will support viewers to purchase products while watching TV programs.

According to reports, when viewers see shopping ads on the Roku platform, they can enter Walmart's checkout page by pressing the "OK" button on the remote control. Information such as the consignee and the delivery address needs to be filled in advance on Roku Pay (Roku's payment platform). On the checkout page, just click "Confirm" to place the order. Walmart will then send a purchase confirmation via email, including shipping, return and product information.

“We are working hard to reduce the time customers spend on products and shorten the distance between discovery and purchase,” said William White, chief marketing officer at Walmart. “Video shopping is very attractive. By partnering with Roku, I will bring a new shopping experience to customers, allowing them to easily purchase and check out on their TV.”

Peter Hamilton, Roku's TV business director, said the company is working hard to develop TV shopping technology. In recent years, many American consumers have purchased a large number of goods through Roku remote controls and have subscribed to Roku membership services. Like e-commerce platforms, TV shopping has also brought great convenience to marketers and shoppers.

Roku's professional advertising technology will bring Walmart all the advantages of streaming TV advertising, including targeting, optimization and measurement. This cooperation will well integrate entertainment and commercial transactions and unlock new purchasing experiences for consumers.
