Baby products are in trouble again! Three products are recalled in Canada

Health Canada issued a recall of three baby products Friday due to risks of entrapment, strangulation and suffocation, although no injuries or deaths have been reported in Canada so far.

The products being recalled include the California Beach CoPopN'Go Playpen, the Wonder & Wise Baby Activity Push Walker, and the Bugaboo Stardust Play Yard Crib.

Health Canada found that the California Beach playpen did not meet regulatory standards, with the top shade posing a fire hazard and the top rail on the side of the playpen posing a entrapment hazard because a child's head could be pushed through it.

The agency also found that the rubber rings on the rear wheels of Wonder & Wise walkers could detach from the wheels, posing a potential strangulation hazard to young children. Only units without the batch number label, or units with the batch number 0521SCP01155 on the undercarriage, are affected by this recall.

For Bugaboo playpens, consumers of certain models are asked not to use the bassinet inlay without the included mattress support board because the uneven sleeping surface could create a risk of injury or death from suffocation. The Stardust playpen is available in black (model 951000ZW01), gray, heather (951000GM01) and steel blue (951000ST01).
