Walmart will include Paramount+ streaming service in its membership service! Comparing with Amazon Prime!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, on August 15, Walmart announced that it had reached an agreement with Paramount Global to provide the entertainment company's Paramount+ streaming service to subscribers of Walmart's membership plan.

Walmart+ members can now access the "basic" tier of the Paramount+ streaming service for free, the report said. The subscription fee for the "basic" tier is usually $4.99 per month. The "premium" tier of the Paramount+ streaming service costs $9.99 per month.

The two companies have reached a 12-month exclusive agreement and a two-year agreement, according to people familiar with the matter. Walmart said in a statement that Walmart+ members will be able to enjoy the Paramount+ streaming service in September.

Walmart has been seeking to launch streaming services for users to attract more people to subscribe to Walmart+ and challenge Amazon. A survey from Morgan Stanley in May showed that globally, the total number of Amazon Prime members is about 200 million, while the number of Walmart+ members is about 16 million. It can be seen that the total number of Walmart+ members is far less than that of Amazon Prime.

Chris Cracchiolo, senior vice president and general manager of Walmart+, said that with the addition of Paramount+ streaming service, Walmart will provide more entertainment for members. Currently, 85% of American households use streaming services, and Paramount+ can provide Walmart members with high-quality content and broad appeal. Walmart is excited about the launch of Paramount+.

According to Paramount Global's estimates, Paramount+ currently has approximately 43 million members. The company also said it hopes to have 100 million users by 2024, and this partnership will help Paramount further achieve this goal.
